Just another quick note with my experience...

SNIP by John D.

Troll somewhere else.

See you......

Black968 07-09-2003 03:43 PM

Huh?

SNIP?

John D?

Must be an 'inside knowledge' thing.

This is what I find hard about Rennlist

Damian in NJ 07-09-2003 04:32 PM

Bob, it's easy. Eric must have a beef with Huntley, and went outside the line in his response. John D., the board admin, came in and 'edited' or snipped the response. John will sometimes flush a whole thread if the posters can't play nice.

Free speech doesn't mean you can cry 'Fire!!' in a crowded theater, either! :)

But the day I am happy about other people telling me what information I am capable of processing in the safety of my own house will be the day I...

I can't help feeling its a bit harsh to sensor a guys opinions. Even if they are stupid (I dont know if they are because I didn't get to read the post). If the opinions are stupid it is my job to decide so, not another person.

I like to think I can decide for myself if someone is badgering a fellow "forum user" or being somewhat reasonable.

Actually I have seen several people complaining about this specific vendor recently so I would like to read the posts and decide for myself. Id rather hear five BS posts to much than get cheaten for one useful post.

I see that this vendor is a rennlist sponsor, any connections with that and the "protection" from the rennlist management or is this a case of pure badgering and totally unusable spam from the sensored poster?

Usually the admins will 'tolerate tuner feedback' to a degree from a regular Rennlist user. In this case it was a brand new user who was sensored. John can correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no telling if the poster is using an alias OR if he's new to Rennlist. Generally new members will post for a while about this and that before throwing mud...not this guy. Obviously John had reason to believe this was just a 'troll' or likely someone using an alias out to cause trouble.

I'm not doubting that Huntley has pissed people off, but registering a new user name just to sling poop around is a no-no.

[/QB]

Why can't rennlist users decide for themselves who is a "troll" or not?

I can see the use of sensoring if the "troll"'s posts are blocking other posts or just spaming to the degree that it makes the board harder to navigate through, but a single post would hardly cause such trouble...

If the troll is making stupid remarks I would think we are able to see this for ourselves.

The more snip's I see the less I think of a forum. Luckily I have seen very very few of these on rennlist and hope it stays that way.

Where are the fuel rails he talked about? I went through all the links and couldn't find them.

As far as the "SNIP", every one agreed to certain conditions and rules when they signed up. It's John's sandbox and the rules are the rules. In one of John's post he explained why he snipped; basically a newer freebie user (Hmmm, I guess I'm an older free-loader :) ) ragging on a board sponsor before he really gave Derrek a chance to make things right. Things get lost, broken or otherwise spindled and mutilated in shipping and that's why there is insurance. But paitence was called for before breaking out the flame throwers. Enough of this drek... <add reply>

As Craig said this was zapped because it was out of line (not right/wrong). We make mistakes and learn from them and being one of the oldest 'tuners' on the list, well have more customers and will therefor have a greater percentage that have had something go wrong with at least one order over the years. The best we can try to do is improve from those.

On the new fuel rail kits, they are on the 'ONLINE STORE' under 'FUEL INJECTION' on the second page. Here is a pic:
