Exclamation Cab rear seat conversion

While attempting to perform the rear seat conversion to my '95 968 cab I unexpectedly found that the center bolt holes for the seat belts are plugged. After looking at 968.net and talking to several people who had done the conversion I was surprised to find them plugged. I cut the carpet and took a peek, looks like it's aluminum and it doesn't give when poked.

Has anyone out there found this? I am hesitant to drill into it without knowing the thickness of the material and what is behind it.

Any insight would be appreciated,

I am going the other way with my S2 Cab. Taking out the rear seats in favor of the seatless 968 style. I have linen interior, any trades out there? <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />
