Jeff, if I understand it correctly, you only can work this magic for NA cars...correct? If so, do you know of anyone (apart from Porsche of course) that might have similar data about non-NA cars? I can't seem to find my option sticker anywhere and I'm dying to know what options it originally came with, what is the exact code of my interior color (I never can figure out / remember is it marine blue, navy blue, maritime blue? some kinda blue that's for sure! :D)...

Edit: aahhh, I really should update my avatar, been driving a midnight blue '93 968 for almost a year now :)

TonD, that's right, my database is of the North American cars but many of the codes are the same. Since you have a 93 your interior is most likely Marine Blue in color with partial leather, code SW. You can visit your local Porsche dealer and have them pull a profile on your car but keep in mind, even Porsche's own computers puts out incorrect data. Certain codes have been reused since the 968 days so you'll see a GT package listed on the profile but there is no such thing for a 968. That code was used for the am/fm cassette player. Let me know if you need any help with the codes.

Thanks! My local OPC is not really cool with anything pre 997 / 987 / Cayenne / Panamera :( But I guess I can make a request at Pon Porsche, the Dutch sole importer.

Jeff,

Would you be so kind to run a report on my '87 944?

VIN: WP0AB0942HN477175

Thanks!

jeff968 07-24-2012 11:18 PM

Sorry Sam, I have complete databases for North american 968 coupes and cabs but no 944s.

Sam Minnitti 07-24-2012 11:50 PM

ok, no problem, thanks for the quick reply.

Jeff's head would explode if he tried to start in with the 944 variants; US 944 models outsold US 968 cars by almost 10-1. Besides, 968's were available with the Exclusiv option program, while 944 models weren't open to much customization as far as options.

I have some good news for you. Your cab is a "1 of 1" in that exterior/top/interior combo.

1 of 31 Z8 black metallic cabs
1 of 1 Z8 black metallic cabs with a V1 classic grey top and a TU light grey/classic grey interior (there were 2 black metallic cabs with a V9 black top and the same TU interior)

Options include the paint, partial leather, XD4 paint crest center caps, 490 hi-fi sound, 692 CD changer. Your car is a 718 car which means it was originally born as a 93 and then reVINed by Porsche to be a early 94.

Looks like a grand prix white coupe with a midnight blue partial leather interior. Additional options include XD4 painted crest center caps, 398 17" cup2 wheels, 418 painted body side molding, 490 hi-fi sound, 595 body colored rear spolier. This is a true 94 so it will have the 993 style seats. 1 of 25 in that paint interior combo.

thanks jeff
