After thinking about it more, I too want a set of these fenders for a 951. Please let us know when you get an idea on price.

I've gone to the track but 3 times...... however I do very frequently deploy my 968's pop-out headlights, and consequently become annoyed at the awkward appearance, lol.

Alright Arash! Group buy, eh? lol

I was wondering why I couldn't find a junkyard 968 and take the fender attachments off it, cut it back to the 951 mounting spot and be done with it. Seems like that would be a lot easier than trying to fab it from scratch.

Agreed. Personally I wouldn't mind if it's factory mounting tabs/brackets, or aftermarket... as long as I have at least the template to start with. Making it from scratch would be difficult and problably result in poor fit/finish.

I picked up a little MIG welder last year and I use it for little things like exhaust cracks, made a few custom brackets, etc. But I've been using it more and more and got pretty good at welding, so I'm comfortable with any possible fabrication needed for the 968 front end conversion.

There are still a few things that would bother me about a 951 to 968 conversion. The biggest one is how the rear bumper sits about a centimeter lower and the panel above the bumper has that extra vertical surface that 968s don't have. Then the one-piece rocker panel isn't a big deal but it is different than a 968. I thought about carving a gentle groove into it to simulate a joint between two panels. OTOH, 993 headlights in 968 fenders would probably make up for all that!

Hi Gents

I'll answer all QU's tomorrow in detail as I have to leave the office shortly

Another quick update below is the our nearly finished development of our new 968 Spot lights and brake duct vents modelled from the 993 Turbo S OEM units which we have adapted to fit. The units will be fitted with PIAA 002 Series 35 WATT H3 light units which are extremely powerful to compliment the 993 developed front fenders.

We've run out of Maritime Blue paint in the workshop but Beni will order some more tomorrow so I'll be able to post pics in the very near future showing the performance of the lights and the aesthetic appearance which already does look very good

Units below simply just resting in place hence the gaps but we ensure a perfect factory standard fit:

Best regards,
Mark and Beni

Mate this is very easy and I will do a diagram to illustrate how to do this conversion tomorrow ... honestly it's a days bodyshop work at worst

Anyone else ever get a "Mutual of Omaha" flashback when Mark posts? You know, Marlin Perkins narrating while Jim wrestles the alligator? Beni is doing a fine job impersonating Jim. lol

Seriously, you guys are both doing a great service for the 968/Porsche community (and Mark, just teasing with my comment above, I am sure you are quite busy and involved with the work).

As to the 951 to 968 conversion, would you prefer we take that to a separate thread so that we don't hijack this one?

Cool, thanks! I'm pretty good with the welder/grinder, do you think I could do it myself?

What's there to weld or grind without a 944 Turbo to start with?

Actually, even if you start with a 944/turbo, you still shouldn't need to weld or grind. Measure, cut and potentially bend sheet metal, and drill should cover the skills required for this job, if I understand it properly.
