Clutch job due: what's different?
Slipping clutch. I've ordered a parts set from Sunset, which includes (per Sunset)-
Finally, given that a new clutch will go in in a couple weeks, should I be moderating or eliminating my driving?
Thanks in advance!
- Clutch kit
- pressure plate bolts
- cross shaft bushings (or needle bearings) for throw-out bearing
- rear main seal
- 9 flywheel bolts

Perhaps a new guide tube while your there.
There are some good write ups with pics out there but you'll
have to search. I can not post the link here.
Clutch should not take more than 4 or 5 hours if things go
smoothly.
A good tip is to use quality triple square and Allen sockets.
Clean the bolt heads of any grim before breaking them loose.
This will help to insure the tool is fully seated and help to
avoid stripping the bolts.
Be sure to check the condition of the DMF while it's out.
You'll be looking for movement of the friction surface realitive
to the ring gear side. Also check for any discoloration and scoring.
Due you have a flywheel lock?
You may get by without the lock but it will be a little more tricky.
Getting the getting the fork pivot shaft out can be tough.
I mad a tool for as mine was a little corroded.
You might want to stop driving it.
You may end up scoring the DMF friction surface.

Well I just posted a write up. Its missing pics and is a work in progress. Between that and the factory manual, you should be good to go. I will post pictures next time I do this job.
Good luck.
