968 Hood Questions...(aka calling all 968 Turbo owner's for info)

Knowing just a little about the 968 Turbo Hood....specifically I have the following questions-

1. Placement of the latch(es) on either side of the hood - is there an exact place to put the latches that works best and not interfere with the placement of the NACA ducts?

2. Configuration the cable(s) from the hood release?

3. Placement of the NACA Ducts - can someone please share the exact placement of these?

4. I have only one NACA Duct - but would like to install 2 - source for another?

5. Intercooler vent - again, does anyone have the exact dimension for layout?

This project has been sitting on the back burner for 3+ years and now we're gonna put it together. Hope to have it done by Labor Day.

Just got the block back from the shop where it was bored to accommodate t he specially designed 104.5mm pistons I got from Andial racing a few years ago. Block is on the stand and will be a complete motor in the next couple of weeks.

Pics to start for those interested.

my source for the naca ducts was Chris at Speed-6 http://www.speed-6.com/ It doesn't look like he is in that business any more? The ducts came with a template which was used to cut the holes. I have never found a source for the intercooler vent. Someone mention Fitzgerald racing but I was never able to get the project off the ground. As Jason from Paragon owns an original he may be able to help....

Jay we have all the parts and info for you here which are better than factory quality as we had to do much correction work to make both sides the same especially regarding the IC center extraction vent: http://www.deutschnine.com/porsche-t...ning-parts.php

If you need more info then feel free to PM me :)

You guys where right in front of me and I never knew.............The Ducts and Vent look Great!....
I will contact you regarding the IC Hood vent via pm or offline

Thanks Mike below is a better picture for you of our IC heat extraction vent (the fit and finish is 100% perfect):

And another quick update and 968 Turbo RS product launch in the form of our new Aero Windscreen Deflector:

Below: Almost finished (you can see the areas still needed to be finished)

Below: the finished product:

And lastly here is a little teaser :) As we have spoken about before we are making dedicated front fenders to accept 993 headlights. When finished the lights will be recessed at the exact same angle as on the 993. The below picture shows us resting the lights in place before we cut in the 993 front fenders and light carriers - this will look stunning when finished and more importantly seriously update both the looks and performance of the front end let alone removing some serious weight :) The new FRP wings will be completed in 2 weeks. The wings currently shown on our development car are our FRP standard wings and as you can see the fit and finish is perfect as will be the 993 upgrade kit and at a reasonable price:

I will post pictures of the entire development and finished product when completed.

Lastly our 968 Turbo RS Version 2 wing is now complete and about to be painted for pictures. It has exceeded all our expectations and truly does look stunning so again pictures to follow shortly.

Picture also shows our Turbo RS replica brake duct vents and front splitter.

Car is fitted with 993 clear front indicators which fit ok but we will be making proper replica 968 clears next month so expect these available very soon.

Best regards,
Mark

Below shows you the factory naca and IC vents we obtained which illustrate just how poor and out of shape they were made:

These really were very poor quality but we made them perfect before re-taking moulds from them :)

Not really to much to get excited about....unless of course you're me.

^ Block was honed to match the Andial pistons (104.5mm) by Duffin Machine Service in San Antonio.

They use the Sunnen machine and offered a great turnaround as well as price. Total with shipping was $275.

The bores look very very smooth - just like glass.

Short block (lower end) should be put together over the next 2 weeks in our spare time.

More pics to follow then.

If your looking at making some clear 968 spececific indicators, then im sure youl have a market for them here in the UK..
There has been quite a few folk wanting some of these over the years, As you well know, the 993 ones arnt the best fit....

Which works better for an intercooler, the NACA ducts or the central vent?
