Default Cover me I'm going in (the engine,WP,belts, variopads 4 SC install) advice-where2buy ?

Hey all,
The 951 is back on the road and it is time to focus on my 968 cab!!! We have discussed these topics before but have a new twist to the questions. I am going to do some service work in preperation for a possible SC installation. I am needing to do the WP and was planning on belts also. While I am in there I will inspect / replace the Vario pads, inspect cams and chain. I do not have any leaks and my cab has been a touring car, no track time, low-no abuse but had concerns on what might need to be looked at knowing I plan on boosting the car. To quote one of our own- "do it once, do it right."

I would apperciate anything anyone has to say about what to look for and where to buy. Has anyone developed a leak AFTER they went in? Maybe additional seals for protection...??

Raj- I may be needing to borrow your brain in the near future.. I will read up again on the cam procedure, I have cam locks from my DOHC V8 build that might assist.

Thanks in advance guys- Cheers, Mike

Do you have the 968 flywheel lock? It is not the same as the 951.

If nothing is leaking then don't fix any, if you do you will probably have a leak after all is said and done, thats how it normally works out. What year is your car?

Mine is a 95.....I do not remember the miles.. I think it's as low as 70-80K. I cannot remember which car has which without being in the garage.

Age is as much a problem as mileage at this point, but if you are doing the work yourself, I'd suggest leaving it alone if its not leaking.

IF you have a Tiptronic the 944 lock works (but not for standard trans)

Ok there are some differences between parts between early and late motors but since you have a 95 you have the good stuff in there already. Dont forget to put anti-sieze on the timing tensioner pin
