Default 968 DME relay question

Is the 968 DME relay the same part as the 951 DME relay? Couldn't find a definitive answer in the archives. Thanks!

Regards,
Chris

I'm not sure if it's the same as the 951 DME relay, but the new one has a 993 part number.

And you want to buy 2.
One installed in the car, one stored in the glovebox.

Same part. I've limped home on an '86 951 original DME relay. Replacement part is as noted above. Buy one new one to install, one new one for the glovebox.

Great, thanks guys. This is just to get the car to start and drive it home, oddly enough I have a spare DME relay from a 951 (part number 944 615 277), just wanted to know whether I could plug it in without running the risk of damaging something in the 968's electronics.

Regards,
Chris
