Did you have a 944 before your 968?
How has owning a 944 prior to a 968 affected your overall experience and perceptions?
or
How has not owning a 944 prior to a 968 made you feel about the 968 and/or the 944?
And add any other thoughts on the matter!

I still have the 944S2 and alternate them weekly as my DD's.
I meant to sell the S2 as I thought the 968 would eclipse it, but that has not happened. The 968 has made me appreciate the S2 more.
S2 is slightly weaker, but more viseral (it also only has 5K on the clock so it revs like a banshee - Rebuild)
The 968 is more powerful and refined so it feels slower, but its more commanding.
Each time I swap, I re-discover why I love the cars. however, the S2 will probably be sold this year.

Loved my '88 NA and still miss it. Needed a bit more power and wanted to eventually run in "F" (now "E") stock. Bigger brakes, 6th gear, lots more "go", unique styling... all things that I appreciated in the move to the 968. The price is weight, but what are you going to do?
I'd drive either one as a street car and be very happy, both wonderful Porsches.

Three 951s. First one was mostly stock. Second one was almost a parts car. Third one was a modded beast. I love the 968 so much more than all of the 951s. My wife is on board with that sentiment as well! Three out of the four p-cars that I have owned have been red.

i had a 87 951 first, triple black, it was a great car but i did more maintenance on that car in 2 years then I did in 11 years of ownership on my 968. Plus i love the look and uniqueness of the 968.

I owned an 87 951 back in 1992. It was a big deal for me to own a 5 yr old Porsche back then. Only mods I did were Koni fronts.
Later on, owned atleast 4 other 951S before wanting to udate them to a 968. I felt that 951's were begining to look their age and wanted something that looked more current. Bought my 1st 968 (MY92 blk/blk) in 2000 after waiting for months to get a 6 speed with M030. As luck would have it, a 968 M030 (MY94) track car showed up within days and I purchased that as well. Undid all the track mods to the M030 and used it for a yr or so until I found the white turbo in Canada. Since then, I have purchased 2 track 951's but never had a chance to run either. Sold them both, could never fnd the time. I also owned a SY 968 M030 that was sold to a great individual. Lastly, I picked up my RB cab in summer of 06. Can't believe it will be 3 yrs with that car.
951's are great but I prefer the look of the 968.

I had a 924S that I bought new in 1988 and sold in 2000 to get a 1994 968.
I would think that a 924S or early interior 944 would be a much bigger jump to a 968 than the later 944s.

After a lot of research I bought my '89 951, fantastic car, got the mod bug, was planning the 3.0 turbo for it when I went to visit my older brother, he has a 968 CS he bought new, jumped in the driver's seat, as soon as we got to the driveway my plans were changing...it was familiar, but it was just better.
So I found a '92 for a turbo conversion, but I drove it for nearly a year, I love the boost but the 968 just is a sweet behaving vehicle.

Had a white 1988 944 5 speed, traded it in for a 1994 Adventurine Green 968 Cab. Sold that to get a truck to go to a new job, but had the bug and bought a black 1994 968 cab, sold that to buy a 1994 Red 968 coupe....sold that to get the 1995 Speed Yellow Cab, then sold my DD Passat to get the Cobalt Blue 1993 coupe...

I had an 86 951 (red/brown) that I bought when I was 17. Spent 2 years and only 15k driving it as it was always broken in one way or another. Being 17 and on my own bill I was not able to keep it on the road. Sold that for a 2005 Jeep Wrangler then went to the PCA club race in 2007 and got the bug again. Bought my 95 968 a week later. Have had it for 2 years now and have only done just a little bit of stuff to it. Never left me stranded or failed to start. Great car!! Would like to see what a 951 would be like if in good working order but I think I'll keep the 68.

1988 924S that has morphed into Frankencar. Pretty much a garage queen when I bought her a few years ago with only 38K on the odo. Then bought the 968 and loved the engine, that's why I decided to put the 3L into the 924S.
