I am new to the forum posting.
I have a bit of info that someone might be able to use and I would love to get some info back. I purchased a 968 bodied 944 race car that came with one of the original 12 or 16? factory 3.0l 8valve turbo motors. The original owner bought the car and used the motor in this race car. I have the engine and the story from what Ive been told, is the original car that the engine came from was yellow and was featured on Techart's brochure back a number or years ago, The car had some track damage but it was still drivable and up to a few years ago was still somewhere on the east coast and was being used for De's. I would love to find who has the car or anything about it. It is one of the original factory 3.0l 968 Turbos built for the street, not one of the four race cars.
Any info would be great.

That is one fast 968/944. I was at the Glen a couple of years ago and was in awe at how fast that car pulled up thru the S's. I was behind it andflat out and the car just pulled and pulled away.....

I called and spoke to a salesman about 2 years or so ago and asked for a spec sheet. They faxed me the spec sheet that they claimed was for that car - however it was almost word for word exactly the same as the Excellence article describing my Kelly Moss Racing built 968 Turbo. So I called and asked them about it and the sales guy said that was what he had on it. So I called KMR to see if they built it and they didn't know anything about it. Then I called the sales guy back and asked what kind of Motec it had and where was it tuned. He never returned my call. If that car is still there it has been there for years now and I suspect that they either don't know much about it or they do but don't want to disclose what they know.

That car never saw KMR. It was built by Powerhaus for John McCarter and was featured in Excellence a while back. The dealership has it on contingency and don't seem too motivated to sell it. Any interested parties should try to contact John directly.

The car was a little rough when I saw it-bad hatch seal, paint only ok-all the money was in the motor on that car. If I was interested in the car I'd dig up the Excellence article and go from there.
