UPS has just delivered the new transponder approved for the Porsche Motorsport Sport Cup Series. It is a Mylaps that I will have to mount fixed inside the front wing

This system requires an annual subscription and more for its use!
I think it will take place next to the Chronelec approved for the GT Classic

This one does not need additional subscription.

It would be nice if the FFSA homologated a single brand, right?

16:30, Paul Ricard under the sun !!! 17 ° C and a bit of wind from the east.

We find the friends, not all, the paddocks of the GT Classic are very little garnished ?? Tomorrow, certainly the last installations in the morning, because at 14:35, the first free practice begins. Our camp takes shape with Chollet and his 944 Turbo Cup, my 968 turbo RS and the magnificent 964 RSR Mathieu

. A little further, the Triumph TR8 IMSA from German Marx.

In the box, the Supra bi-turbo Louail and the beautiful Ultima Cantin.

I caught a glimpse of the Pelosi Venturi 400 and for others ???

We will see tomorrow, meanwhile, a small aperitif followed by a nice meal. Friday will be another day .............

Friday, day dedicated to the briefing and the first free private practice session.

Windy and cloudy weather but no rain.I decided to keep the Michelin Sports Cup for this session exclusively dedicated to the discovery of the 3 new turns and the behavior of the engine with this new mapping. Many packages compared to the list of committed.11 cars took the track on the 20 engaged ????The timesheet gives a small overview but some still have them underfoot.

We'll see tomorrow morning first time for qualifying.Dry or wet track ???To be continued

Saturday, qualifying day in the morning at 9am and Race 1 at 15:30. Day that started well and ended in "Gag" !!! First of all at the early morning tests, dry, windy, and chilly weather; ideal for the turbo. I was 1'29 "547 and we ended up at 4 cars in 2 seconds !!

This should be interesting for the race of the afternoon Race or I will leave on the 4th line, but outside the first corner.

15h30, departure started and this first turn turned to ..rock'roll (a video will follow !!) for me: Completely outside, or nobody goes for a little "clean", loss of grip and here I am, after some figures ... last .. Knife between the teeth, I tried to go up but for 2tours 1/2, impossible to exceed 0.75b supercharger ??? And then suddenly, the 1,2b arrived and Everything remained normal until the end !!!! Not embarrassed during the whole race, I applied myself to align the most regular laps, before and after the mandatory 2mn30 stop in the pit-lane. 2'28 "754, (better than during the qualifiers !!) Passing the checkered flag, back in the pit-lane where everyone is stopped. Reason: waiting for results !!! And finally they release the cars except the podium .... I am about to take the direction of the paddocks but I am stopped: You are on the podium! Surprise power 1000 !!! But maybe penalties have been added to some who were in front. I still ask if they are sure of the result: "We tell you Podium, you are 3rd". OK, OK. Photo and all the ceremonial ... My little 968 behind the monstrous Supra bi-turbo and the bestial 993 GT2.

In the paddocks, we build all tracks to justify penalties that would have pushed back the 5 cars that were in front of me, normally. 18:30, receptive cocktail in the box of the organizer and there, we see the official results sheets ..... I am 8éme well! And no proof or excuses for real 3rd!

Never mind, it became a friend and we share our camp and our parties ....... A photo will immortalize the passage of the trophy to the real 3rd: Sebastien Mathieu.

Tomorrow Sunday will be another day ......... Race 2 at 10:45

Sunday, April 1st !! Already the tandem DAUMAS / 968 is on the front page of Var Matin !! Really very friendly and rudely done this article. Thank you "Gil LEON" !!

And that made its effect on this last race of the meeting.

Facebook Post

Super start in 4th row and this time, even outside the 1st left after the start, it will pass correctly. Nice fight throughout these 16 laps and finally the 968 finishes 6th overall and 4th in its category.

And as a bonus, we discovered why the pressure of the turbo remained on 0,75 b during the first 2 laps of the tests and the race 1: It was however simple: Safety on the boost as the temperature of the oil is not at 80 ° C. And for this second race, I turned the engine well before in the paddock and my departure was done with the right pressure: 1.2 b. A big thank you to the actors who allowed my 968 to regain its form at the beginning of the season: Castellet Car Motorsport; MF Power Competition and Race For Fun

Next step: Lédenon with the Porsche Club Motorsport in 13 days !!!

We forget the Paul Ricard to focus on Lédenon who announces for J-7! Already !!! And so work, work on the car .... Loaded and led to his doctor loved

I recover the wheels mounted in racing to replace them with the mandatory Sport Cup in the races that await me

Flat bottom removed and Hoooo !!the tensioner for the DA pump is broken but it was just right, just !

A small tour at the corner pharmacy ORECA 500 meters and the remedy is found: two beautiful unibal kneecaps

It remains the check-up tightening to do, the pads to change and bleeding the brakes. And to finish the installation of the new transponder.Wednesday morning, we go back home for a departure the next day.

I really like your car and passion to race

Have you considered to change to a more modern turbo? Faster spool, V-band inn and out, regarding all the bolt problems.

No, because this 968 allows me to stay in Classic race and I love this generation of cars of the 1980/1990 years. For me, if I had to go on a modern race car, it would be a car without turbo style Cayman 6 cylinder !!!

Thank you
A lot of manpower especially.!!!! But race is alway expensive. To offset these expenses, no long trips this season
