I think so too, but it's an old story that dates from the construction of this 968 RS.

We will wake her slowly before the real winter !!!

Some finishing touches on the beams, a repositioning of the security box of the Haltech power station and a complete check on the turbo pressure management pipes because the manettino has no more action on this one whatever its position.

CCM will attack all this next week. They are busy right now !!

A passage this afternoon at Castellet Car Motorsport to see where are the small finishing work on the 968. The 968 is on the lift and in good company as usual !!!!

The workshop is well loaded in old !!!
This RS will soon be ready for the showroom

This "evocation 2L8RSR", a little high of the *** will have its engine revised

the problem of the manettino has been identified: No output signal from the ECU to the solenoid responsible for modifying the discharge pressure of the waste gate.

Otherwise everything is ok, pressure / vacuum piping, electrical wiring, everything has been tested. The ECU safety box has been raised from the floor to the dashboard; it will no longer be heated by the exhaust that passes right behind the sheet and the fuses and relays will be clearly visible and easily accessible.

Before

Now

All the gimbals screws were "braked wire" according to a new process.

Normally, the 968 returns to his garage Thursday .................

A little tour at Castellet Car Motorsport for the traditional 2018 greetings and to have news on the "non functioning" of the manettino ..... Bingo, with the CD of Haltech loaded in their PC, they found that the Transmitter of Position Sensor was "out" ... no signal variation after the opening of the butterfly! So "degraded mode" for the Haltech ECU which locks at 0,85b the solenoid valve charged with piloting the waste - gate.
It's up to us to find a new TPS because this one has no registered reference !!The use of the Dutch who prepared the car is obliged ..... To be continued

Latest news, the current TPS could be recalibrated via the PC on the factory. Indeed, completely open, the signal received by the ECU was 67% ??? Now, the 100% "mechanical" (corresponding to the accelerator on the ground) is well displayed on the screen at 100%. Other work involved, the verification of the drain door that seems to have played at the axis of the valve and its membrane is very cracked. pressure Pipe replacement and complete cleaning; Reassemble and test with the gas T ° output then on road. Now is the time to make sure that the only problem remaining in boost pressure comes from this TIAL (well identified and easy to find)

TIALmodel

Double port

It can be cooled !!They were engraving H2O !!

It is the sealing of the valve that would be involved via a play of its axis

The coming week will close the winter work on the car. Indeed, the test on the waste gate will be able to be done. Race for Fun confirmed me the TIAL and returned to a site where I extracted the plans of this WG. It is a TIAL MV-R 44mm

We will review the stacking of the springs with the new ones provided

We will certainly go on 1.3b because we will always have the positions of the manettino (turtle / hare / skull) to refine according to the condition of the track.

Of course, we will do a stint at MFPower to validate all the work to dyno next month, just before a small "track day" on the Luc circuit on 24 February.

And if we have no surprises, the month of March will see the serious things begin with the PC Motorsport meeting on Magny-Cours on the 10th and the first round of the GT Classic on the Paul Ricard 30/31 and April 1!!!

This week has been relax at CCM (workload obliges !!) on my 968. Just the reassembly of the waste gate and no escape at idle (the discharge remains cold, so the valve seat is correct) c 'is already that !!!they will finish all tests next week.In the meantime, another monster has come to join the two grannies !

A TRUE 993 GT2 waiting to get back to life. From the show in perspective

For this upcoming 2018 season, priority n ° 1 for local circuits rather than a complete championship very expensive in travel when we live in the South of France South!
Priority # 2, having fun in real races, in the present moment, without worrying about the points gleaned for a final annual ranking.
And all this while continuing the adventure with my 968 in the category "Classic".
By nesting the calendars of the various organizers who accept the GT of the 90s, I arrive at a nice result.

And nothing will prevent to include some outings track days with friends on Le Luc or Lédenon.

The detailed examination of the waste gate suggested a change of the membrane very soon, and the play of the axis of the valve was a little too important. So, decision to change this waste gate before starting the season. We will have the opportunity to choose a combination of springs may be a little different to take advantage of slightly higher boost pressure. We know that we can always refine this pressure with the "manettino" which covers almost 200gr.
