Holidays in Corsica ended !!!

A return to work on the 968 ..... A short stay at Castellet Car Motorsport to finish the electricity ...

First, we had to finish the second fire extinguishing supply for the engine compartment: 1 nozzle directed towards the turbo (one oil hose feeds its lubrication) and 2 others that will spray on the fuel injection ramp

Contortionist work and flexibility on the menu !!! Remain to mount the pulls and cables for the triggering ......

Some shopping during sales !!!! After the failure of one of the three fuel pumps replaced in Dijon

It seemed reasonable to change the other 2 as a preventive ....... the second "low pressure"

And high pressure

I leave with the certainty that my gasoline power is optimal (the injectors have already been checked and cleaned ultrasound by MFPower)

This was my first race car project and i stil love it! So much so that after a 997cup car and a 964 rsr replica i have now decided to come back to the transaxle Porsche ! It wil not be a 968 because of the fact that "youngtimer " rules do not alow Post 1990 cars , The next project wil be a 951 racer . Of course i wil be using the MOBIL1 livery again...

951, very good idea !! I've driven 4 .......

First: 951 turbo S 250cv

2nd: 951 turbo kit 300cv

3rd: 951 turbo 250cv track day

And the last: 951 turbo Cup Trophée 1989 with Snobek kit 300cv

Hardly delivered, the 2 petrol pumps are brought to CCM

And this is the opportunity to see the progress on the work in progress: the 2 drawbars are in place and fixed and the passages of the ducts up to the extinguisher defined

All the electric wiring harness is now lightened and only the wires that are used are connected.

The wiring harness of the Haltech ECU is ready to be replaced.

It remains to complete the simplification of the wiring of the instrument panel and the central console

......To be continued

The 968 is back !!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a dashboard recollected and lightened of 3 kg of wires and connectors that no longer served !!!! The Haltech ECU beam is well packed and ready to be replaced with a new simplified wiring (there is also no wire ball used).

New extinguisher, new battery, new bucket, new circuit breaker, new petrol pumps, new alternator, new spark plugs ...... what to see the October Finals in GT Classic (Magny-Cours) and Porsche BRM Sport Cup (Paul Ricard) with serenity on the side "electricity" !!!!!

Let's go back to our sheep ... rather to my 968 who is always impatient on his trailer! We will test the Paul Ricard on Monday 25th September from 17h to 18h to validate the modifications and especially to check that at full load, the engine does not cut at the top of rpm as it did before the overhaul of the electrical system. It will thus be possible to validate that the Haltech power station is not involved as is always supposed a little.
Since returning from Castellet Car Motorsport, it starts on a quarter turn and does not present any symptoms to hot accelerations ..... but good, it is on trailer !!!!

It will also be the opportunity to evolve in the midst of beautiful GT gathered for this "After Work" organized by Stéphane Ory !!

Dernière mesure, ou on s'est aperçu des coupures dans les hauts régime moteur

Last measurement, or we saw cuts in the high engine rpm

A Day-7 test at the Paul Ricard, the 968 returned to Castellet Car Motorsport to finish and fine tune some details and make the usual checks before release on circuit.
4 months without race ... it's loooong !!!!

Monday, September 25 was a bad day !!!Contact, starter, the engine starts and after five minutes, everything turns off !!Even the dash goes off ??? Verdict, ignition fuses and fECU fuses out !!!And the cable coming out of the ECU is hot!
the technician changes the fuse, reverse the ECU relay . Ignition ...... and everything starts to work well !!!
Really incomprehensible. As a safety measure, it is decided to cancel the track day and to completely check the electrical wires coming out of the Haltech ECU.
There must be on a power line a false contact ... we must find it ....
