Gilbert,
Are those Early Transaxle mounts?
Are you using those on your 968 RS?

Thank you,
Max

Sorry but I don't understand: Early Transaxle ????
You talk about gimbal

For me, transaxle is the tube that connects the engine to the gearbox

Gilbert.

Love your 968 RS replica! When reading through this thread I see that blue 944 Turbo Cup in the background and on some of your films. Could you pleas tell more about that car? Modifications, history?

Regards
Peder

The 2017 calendars are published !! We are therefore planning on the new season with two objectives: races in Gt Classic with the Historic Tour and track days at Motorsport. This gives 1 meeting a month for 8 months !!! And 3 meetings very close to the house, it's worth its weight of euros ....
Passage in the workshop of the car first half of January .............. it will happen soon !!!

I take advantage of this winter break to learn about the changes made by Race For Fun on the engine currently in place in my 968. And I had confirmation of the assembly of "DARTON sleeves". These sleeves mainly used in the USA would allow the 3L to hold the 500cv and +.
I had never heard of it !!!

Ok I see. Have you had any issues with it or the engine? Is it a good reliable system?

Regards
Peder

Never any problem. Even with outdoor temperatures of + 40 ° C

Could it be that I have seen your car for sale recently? Thinking about another project?

Yes, another project in another race category.

But if the car is not sold in early January, I do a season with it again.

Best of luck!
Would be a shame though, to no longer being able to follow the adventures of this car.

January is the 1st month of the year and it coincides with the fitness of the car for the new season !!! The first orders arrived !!!

We will go on new front disks (993 turbo)

But first disassemble the bowls because those of the 968 are special: Wider and ventilated

At the last disassembly of the break pads, the seals dust covers of the pistons of the calipers were almost absent !!! So I will take advantage of it to make great revisions of these AV calipers by changing pistons and seals.

Finally, for ignition, we will leave on new spark plugs and ignition coils

To complete the review of the ignition, we have to find a manufacturer for the ignition beam because they are "tailored". And already, in 2016, those in place had some stigma of cracking.
I ask myself about the interest of a belt full of change, knowing that the four have only 22 hours of race in 2016 and belts distribution and oil pump are Kevlar.

It was time to think knowing that the work will be in late February and that the first track day (Magny-Cours) is on March 25 ................. .......
