4kix66 - that photo of your 'art car' in your signature is, well, intriguing...can you show a little more 'leg' in a new thread?

The revision at Classic Auto Sport has just ended. It took delivery of 4 coils that arrived from the United States (coils mounted on the Chevrolet engines LS5). Now we have all the references and next year everything will be in stride.

the biggest job was to set and adjust shims between the support and the oil pump because Lindsay has changed the length of the belt of his kit since it was overworking bearings. We took the opportunity to take a look at the turbo (fins and axial game)

Spark plug replaced (Iridium BKR7EIX) by the same

Air filter cleaned because it is a permanent BMC

Lubrication of bearings of the rigid rear and flat bottom cleaning that needed it !!!

I'll recover the car next week and order my tires to be compliant at the rule of BRM Chronograph Sport Cup 2016

To be continued............

After the revision, what happiness to find an engine and its compartment as clean !! And the big advantage is that the slightest leak will be quickly spotted. Congratulations to Classic Auto Sport for professionalism.

it was before, just before the revision ...............

Finally the new tires are complete !!!!

Rest mounting / balancing of the first set of wheels "Veloce3,6" that will serve only rolling on the track and the second on the BBS that are lighter and will be reserved for qualifying and races.
The season will begin ................

I used to test tires for Michelin. They never gave me a tire that looked that sophisticated. I'm gonna call and complain. Yokohoma had me test a tire that looked a lot like that. Espionage?

The Michelin Sport Cup 2 is a bi-compound tire directly derived from competition
Distribution of two different compounds between the outer and inner portions of the tread
outside: an elastomer "High Molecular Chain" hardness adapted to be very adherent; provides exceptional dry grip in tight corners
inside: a more rigid elastomer for guiding and driving precision
Conclusion:Pilot Sport Cup 2 Homologated for the road, designed for track

That explains it perfectly. When they delivered the tires to me they said they were the same size all four corners, could be installed forwards or backwards or left to right and were made of rubber. Probably made in Akron, too. That was reassuring cuz I was born in Akron and many of my aunts and uncles worked at tire companies. Back then most race tires came from the tire dump at BFG. This is mostly TIC. I had this privilege with Michelin, BFG, Yokohama, Dunlop, Semperit and others from late 70's to around 91. First techie type tire I ever saw was the Dunlop "dog bone" radial I had on my 67 VW. Then BFG and Michelin keep trading places with compounds and tread patterns until they bought each other. Then Bridgestone and Yokohama came along and stirred up excitement. Yokohoma once had a tread pattern the looked like Picasso and Warhol co-designed it while on a binge. Interesting NOTE: 10 tire companies paid $10,000 each to sponsor the 1990 Porsche Parade in Monterey. Think of it, $100,000, who would do that?
