Finished the fun on the track !! It's time to store all the equipment and the car but before, it's the cleaning ... it was needed with this rainy weather on Lédenon
Practical washing on the trailer especially for the rocker higher
The 968 was entitled, finally, to a small sunbathing
The barnums have dried
She is in her box again,
cleared of the stickers of the previous meeting and ready to receive those of the VdeV plateau of the "Ferdinand Cup".Registration is gone, May 25-27 on the Paul Ricard ...... and the cicadas whispered in my ear, it will SUN SHINING

At D-7, the list of entries for the VdeV meeting in HCV was released. As for Magny-Cours, the VHC set will bring together the Saloon Cars and the "Ferdinand Cup" is 34 cars planned !!Not bad at all. With the 968 we will be in the group "Ferdinand Cup" which is announced with 9 competitors.
On Tuesday, the 968 will go to CCM for a drain, a bleed of the brakes and a complete check of the chassis / transmission locks. But before, I have to replace my headband protections with new, FIA homologated I took at Oreca.

Here we are !!! Barnums installed,
the bracelets recovered for tomorrow
and the meeting of some competitors of the "Ferdinand Cup", all very nice and a very good welcome by Stephane Enout who really works for everyone to have fun and in a friendly atmosphere.
Best of all, it's hot and sunny with just a little breeze !!!!
Tomorrow, the ceremonial administrative controls and at the end of the day 45 minutes of free practice. And there, surprise, Philippe from Michelin came spontaneously to offer his help to determine the good tire pressures on our cars by raising the tire temperatures during these tests.Nice !!We will give 5 stars / 5 for these first hours spent in the paddock "Ferdinand Cup"!To be continued........

Friday a.m, free practice for 45 minutes .... enough to recognize the circuit for those who discover or to adjust his car. And here, for me, it was an opportunity to have a tire temperature survey by Philippe from Michelin. 15 minutes driving and we go to the pits for measurement
Results: A difference of 10 ° C between the inside (warmer) and the outside (less warm) of the negative camber. These differences well balanced to 4 tires make me advise me not to change the hardness of my dampers set to FD - 10/30 on the front and FD - 21/50 on the rear and a stabilizer bar AR 2 out of 3.
The remaining 30 minutes will be abbreviated by the explosion of the engine of an A310 Saloon Car in the full-right pit
29 cars out of 33 planned were able to perform these private tests
With 2'34 "493, my 968 is placed 11th, and we can already see a semblance of hierarchy within the Ferdinand Cup.
Saturday, qualifying and 1st race !!!

It is true that there was a "Friday night" with aperitif VdeV ..........
So wake up at dawn on Saturday to ride the BBS (lighter than 3kg each), refuel to have grip on the AR and put the Sport Cup at 1.6b squared
Small ballad in the paddock to see the trucks !!!
And everyone wakes up little by little and we take the track for qualifying
Not easy with 28 cars on track to have clear turns, especially that 3/4 ride in racing tires, we were entitled to blue flags without stop!
30 minutes later, the grids of races 1 and 2 are frozen. The best time will be the position on the grid race 1 and the 2nd best time will be the position on the grid race 2.
My 968 with 2'33 "692 will be on the 6th line in race 1 and on the same line for race 2 with my second best time 2'33" 913.
Note that the grids account for Saloon Cars that will only 30 minutes over 60 minutes that will last our two races
Satisfaction because I improved by 1 "my best time on this circuit with M.Sport Cup2

Saturday afternoon !!!!!
1h to sweat in the bucket seat !!! The race is over ... Phew !!! The first 10 minutes, I enjoy staying in the first 15 who are all equipped with racing tires but I quickly feel that my tires will not hold the rest of 50 minutes!
It is the 5th lap that I do my best time in the race: 2'37 "460 and after, it's a race without history taking care not to interfere with the Saloon Cars that will stop at the 30th minute. the stop of 2 mn regulation with the stands, I find myself a little isolated, it was enough for me to manage my advance and it is the first place at the "Ferdinand Cup" which returns to my 968 !!!
And 6th in the VHC ranking behind beautiful cars
13 cars classified only and 5 abandon more a non starter!
Castellet Car Motorsport and MFPower-Compétition did a good job on the car: 3 meetings and Zero defects !!!
Tomorrow, we put it back at 10am !!!

And to close the report, the 3 embedded videos. And some reminders not to shoot too much red ***** on the "Ferdinand Cup" that seem to drag compared to some cars!
The Saloon Car are part of our qualifying practice and are therefore on the starting grid at our side;but they stop after 30 minutes of race.
In HCV, 3 categories are differentiated: Protos (PR);the GT (GT) and finally the Ferdinand Cup (FC).And only the FC category is not entitled to racing tires;and for the moment free choice is left: R888R, Sport Cup, Yoko, all that is homologated road.
The qualifying practice on Saturday morning with 28 cars on the track for 30 minutes.
The Saturday afternoon race with 28 cars on the grid
And finally the Sunday morning race with 27 cars at the start
At 15'30 "it's hot !!!

A very hard Monday !!! We unload the 968 from its trailer, we disassemble the wheels, clean them, we store all the equipment, the barnums ....... in short, everything in its place ........ And we immortalize this nice meeting VdeV in Category "Ferdinand Cup" which was successful. The continuation of the adventures on the circuit of Dijon-Prenois the 29 -1 July, always in VHC Ferdinand Cup.
3 race meetings in 3 different organizations. A good experience to project the continuation to end 2018. I had planned Magny-Cours in August with the Porsche Motorsport (it will be the feast of the 70 years of Porsche) to compete for a second round in "Sport Cup Series" . But, what is the point of racing in an event normally reserved for sports car Cups if some have racing tires? On Lédenon, 9 cars / 24 were racing; on Val de Vienne it was 7/16. In addition, the category "Classic" where the "air motor" and the "front engines" are found has been removed and regrouped in the "GT Sport" category. Small note, the 991 GT3 / RS strong category of only 2 cars is kept while the "Classic" had 3 cars.
In short, the budgeted move has been postponed to the VdeV Dijon next month. The atmosphere is friendly with the desire to share good moments of race and others more turned to the table and meetings. And grouping all the "Ferdinand Cup" in the box rented by some is a very good thing. The family what !!!!
After Dijon, it will be a big break of 3 months and the INTRAX dampers will take advantage of it to go to revision (the last date of 2013 !!!)
In October, the Paul Ricard 15 minutes from home is of course privileged with driving with the Porsche Motorsport
