Last visit to the pharmacy "ORECA" to treat the 968 !!!! The famous anti-defenestration net mandatory for Motorsport Sport Cup Series races .. After handling the rectangular and triangular net, there is no picture !! The latter is open in one click and especially does not interfere with the vision of the mirror. More expensive, but hey, security is well worth a few extra euros

Small panic on the pads, Pagid and Carbone Lorraine are not available for front and rear!So we will panacher Pagid RS14 front and Carbone Lorraine RC6 rearSome do it !!To see

.And finally the can of Mocool to dilute (5%) to distilled water for cooling

Standard liquids are dangerous because they are oily and slippery if they leak on the track ..... And some organizers forbid it for racing.

Hi Gilbert, curious about your gear ratio's. I assume you have a six speed transmission. In your two most recent qualifying videos I never saw you reach 6th gear.

The construction of the car by the first owner has been expensive, but since I have it, it's just small repairs and maintenance except this change of the ECU (2000 €).The most expensive are the trips to go on circuit (1200 € each) and commitments at each meeting (850/1000 €).I live in the countryside, in the Var Bandol vineyards.

This morning, in the rain, recovery of the 968 at CCM. The point on small work facts: The transponder MyLaps is in place and its switch to the dashboard + its USB socket box to download acquisitions .. The console starts to be well loaded!

The new pads are in place.

The Power Steering Tensioner has been fully taken over with its 2 Unibal ball joints.Fixing the pump also with a new cross screw

We had to bleed the brakes

put the anti-roll bar at the most flexible

and I ended by the softening of the shock absorbers to 50%. Indeed, the rest of the season will be in Sport Cup2 and Lédenon in 2 days will be ...... in the rain !!!!Tomorrow morning we finish the loading of the convoy and departure at 14:30 for Lédenon which opens its doors from 16 h.To be continued........

Thursday end of the month, arrival on Lédenon under ... the rain !!! And it was necessary to unpack and mount the barnums under .... the rain

A night of rest and Friday morning briefing

Gray sky and wet track for the 1st session. I mounted the old Dunlop rain 2015 and we rediscover this circuit and especially the monsters of this series "Sport"! A small 2'06 "80 not folichon !!! 2nd session of 10:15, the track has dried but I kept my tires rain !!! Verdict: 1'57" 920 in the 3 rd lap and I come back because the tires are Hot boiling !! 11:45, 3rd session, and I rode my new Sport Cup, to break: 1'43 ", but the car is a little too soft with the rain settings After a small meal, session of 14:45 and I hardened my shock absorbers from +5 to the AV and +8 to the AR.no improvement but clear turns are almost nonexistent Ma 968 is found in the pack of GT3, RS, Cup, GT4, etc .... and the retro are well congested and make me lose my braking landmarks and trajectories not to interfere too much
http://

4:30 pm session, same and no improvement. Finally the qualifications for the races of the next day;First qualifier for race 1, we have 10mn to make his time 1'43 "99. Break of 5mn and Second qualifies of 10mn for race 2: 1'41" 96.Park closed and I am taught that my transponder does not work ???My times with my time onboard will not necessarily be the same as those taken manually by the timekeepers.Tomorrow, we'll have to see that again.

Saturday morning or rather the night from Friday to Saturday !! 4am. I have ...... In short, the transponder problem has shortened that night. So in the rainy night, jack, air gun, searchlight and the left front wheel and removed and the transponder disassembled. I plug it into my computer with the USB plug and the load can start .; it is 6am! 9am, the fine rain has not stopped and the transponder is flashing green. He will hold the day confirms me the responsible chrono. Phew !!! Soon the wheel is raised and the pre-grid awaits us, my 968 and me
http://nsm09.casimages.com/img/2018/...2915670089.jpg
Departure at the end of the line, the show will be in front

.... and we will soon galley to have a little traction in the raises at the bottom of the slopes of this toboggan Lédenon. The manettino stayed on "turtle" and with 700gr sural and a couple flattened, and well it skates on the raises in 2 and even on the passage of the 3. We will forget the time and try to stay on the track and keep banana drifting. The 3 classic (993 biturbo, 993 RSisée, and my 968) are grouped in the GT Sport category. with two other newer models (old Cayman I believe). In short, the video to follow will show well this course or the pack of GT4MR and 996 Cup, mounted in racing rain, I pass at a crazy pace and on crazy trajectories

When reading the results, I regret not having had a dry track because it could have been nice with some 718 Sport Cup.
8 cars finish in the same lap, 6 to 1 round and the remaining 10 are taken 2 turns. So I finish 24 th out of 25 starters, the Cup Pointet having started the bac!
Best lap 2'01 "067 and, consolation, 2 others have done worse! (1 GT4 and 1718 Sport Cup). Looking at the real" Classic, "the biturbo arrives 14th (best lap 1'55" 320)and the 17th RS (1'57 "003)

The revenge this afternoon on the dry ????

Saturday afternoon, the track is very dry since 11am and qualifying lap times promise a bit of a fight with 3 other competitors ....

14:30, the cloud ceiling begins to come down and the wind will calm down !!!! 14h50 put in pre-grid in end of pit-lane and ...... the rain which starts again !!!!! Panic in cars that are in slick and the direction of race allows them a tire change. 3:40 pm, here we are on the starting grid, but the lights remain red, a 991 GT3 RS is down! And the rain continues .... towing in several times (without battery, these 991 have a hard time to be pushed, PDK blocked !!) It is not far from 16h when the real start is given in a continuous rain and the same scenario that the morning is repeated ... drift recovery in the climbs etc ........ little traction. The banana even to see pass and iron fighter planes ... 3 or 4 lap under safety car and it's the end of the race. Only 4 cars in the same lap !!! 15 to 1 round and 5 to 2 rounds ......

We would have hoped for the sun !!Not even to repack the equipment ... soaked at home soaked. There is work coming in to clean all that.

Nice driving. Regarding your boost on wet, we often put in boost by TPS in our racecars.

5-70 % tps 0.1 bar - 0,5bar 70% - 100% full boost.

Thank you.On this race car, the ECU Haltech receives information via a "manettino" (Tortoise, Hare, Death's Head) and controls the boost via the double port of the Waste gate .. And the boost varies from 0, 7 to 1.2b.On these races, I was "turtle" with 0.7b and 320 HP (engine) at 6200 Rpm.Torque max: 411 N.m at 4400 Rpm.I can not have less.If I put skull, it's 391 HP at 5500 rpm and 524 Nm at 4200 rpm.Only on dry track and with slick tires

That is a nice system.

But we apply throttle position and Boost pressure in the tables, wich allows a smooth curve on rain and other slip surfaces, where you want traction and some boost, but not 0.7 bar from 3000 hence the sudden slips and skidds.

I understand. But here, on this ECU, I do not know if it's possible.Your solution is really very interesting.
