grease cap over front wheel bearings loose
My one front grease cap over the wheel bearings keeps coming loose. I have slightly bent out the edges before I tap it back in, but it still gets loose. There seems to be a threaded hole for a set screw, but I don't have one on either front cap. Am I missing something? Should I just try harder when bending out the edges?

Dave, the nut that holds the bearings in place is held tight by a allen headed bolt that is torqued down after the bearings are adjusted using the washer method.
That is what stops the nut from turning back out. The cap is just there to protect the grease from coming out of the hub. I have seen people use silicone based sealant to seal it.

I had this same problem. A new cap made it go away. Also, if you haven't done this already, cleaning the grease from the mating surfaces might do the trick

If they become really obstinate (like they do in track cars) you can tap the hub for a very small set screw (say 1.5mm). Just remember it's there when you are trying to pry it off.
