Default The 968: Does it prefer certain octane gas?

Which gas does the 968 run best on? Or does it matter?

hHarvey, the highest gas you can possibly put in. Fortunately for the east coast folks, we still get 93 octance and some pumps even carry 94 octane. Unfortunately, that is not the case elsewhere in the country. Since the engine has very high compression even for today's time, the higher octane will help fight detonation under severe conditions.

I've always run 93 in my dd and track car. However, I was just about out of gas yesterday and decided to put in 89 to see how it ran. I've not done any spirited driving yet, but will this weekend. I'll let you know if I feel any difference.
