Default timing

Any problem with the front of the car lifting off above 300km/h?
I will email you the timing and fuel files, get me an email , but i run 50/50 toluene / euro 100 octane and i use the fuel -timing tec3r trimmers.
The cars aerodynamics are all stock , and i feel tha i loose the rear rather than the front.
I didn'd monitor the knocking with the tec3 but i can tell you that this motor is very sensitive to detonation ,and when it doesn't give you a second chance, when you do 250-280 kmh.
The timing from 3500rpm to 7100 at full boost 260kpa is 15degrees btdc.but as i say i can sent you the files no problem.

According to gearing diagram, 305 km/h makes 7200 rpm on the standard 951 gearing with stock tires.
I suppose Demetrios is running 18" wheels/tires?
I use 18" two piece wheels off the BOXTER S that are far inferior to the original
16"forged wheels , but i had to acomodate 370 mm brake disks.

Take a closer look and you will realize that is a 300km speedo.

Wow.....That's a lot of info. I procured a Porsche only shop to complete this exact build. They took over three years and robbed me of 25k for the motor build and the mechanic blew up the motor on the day of delivery. Then they told me they couldn't warrant their build because I supplied the Mahle Turbo pistons. Said they they would eat the labor on the second motor if I covered parts. 8k later 2nd motor blew up on 2500th mile at 60mph in the rain. Becareful.....

Ferrea

Oh boy... My PTSD would kick in, they would not be very safe! I would start by backing a uhaul truck right to their shop door and take all their tools since they don't know how to use them. Let me know if you need help.

But anyway, I just got my 3.0 block today (from a 88 944s) and have an 89 n/a in the driveway. I just finished reading this whole thread and realized im going to need a good amount of 951 parts to complete this 3.0l t build.
Hoping that you're aware that a '88 944S is 2.5L and not 3.0L!

That doesn't make 280KPH any faster than 174 mph. I could be a 900KM speedo.

Hi folks, I've tried posting in the 944 turbo area to share timing maps for a 3.0 16v turbo, but not much sharing going on.

I have a S2 3.0 16v cabrio turbo which I have built myself, lots of changes to get this far, I have shared my timing map below in the hope that others may also share back???

Car has forged ceramic topped pistons, forged rods, piston squirters, ceramic coated exhaust valves, cometic HG, raceware studs, head is port matched. Currently a 60-1 with #10 hotside. Runs just under 9:1 CR on Aust 98 octane (US 93) of course a standalone EMS

Runs very well like factory, but very quick, boost limited at the moment to 114Kpa, but will go much higher when I get the timing fully sorted.

Please share your timing maps.....
