So the red 50k coupe with Kinesis wheels did not reach it's reserve at $20,500. Someone commented that that was six 968s in a row that had not met their reserve on BAT. That should help prices but I'd prefer to see the market pick back up. Not that it really matters, I'm not buying or selling. Same with my Mercedes 6.9. Not selling, I love that car. But I'm somehow sure I'd love it more if I knew it was worth more..lol.

That now makes the last 6 in a row 968s on BAT that have not met reserve. I definitely would not have sold this one for under $20k either. I really like that white with the gray top option, although I guess you cannot easily get a replacement when that top goes bad.

Ageed!!
The car did require at least $5,000 in deferred maintenance. Little seller participation. And the BBS wheels, as nice as they are, do nothing for the cars looks. IHMO.
What are those blue plugs on the underside of his car? Mine does not have them. Not even sure if there are any plugs there or even holes.
Only when non-transaxle type guys and gals realize who great a car the 968 car is, will prices take off. So far the only ones that attract "fair" prices are the ulta-low milage collector cars. I bet most of them are not really appreciated by their new owners. They just need to buy one to fill-out their collection.

Jeff,
That was a 22,000 mile car with all the right options. I noticed that it had "knock-outs" in the underbelly floor pan. The recent car auctioned had the knock-outs knocked-out(or so it looked to me), and then plugged.
This would lead me to believe that it had suffered some sort of flood damage sometime. Why else would there be blue plugs?

All the right options? No M030 and it was 1 of 547 red coupes so not rare color-wise and a number of day-2 mods that needed to be dealt with. No question about mileage and how clean it was. Still, I think this recent sale speaks to the strength of the 968 market despite the fact that the last 6 on BaT haven't moved. IMHO.

I think this is the $47K hangover. All 6 of the last 6 on BAT reached their respective market value IMHO. The owners/dealers were just delusional after a low mileage very nice red one sold for 47K. Happened 2 years ago but not as quickly after the $36K white car sold there were 6 cars that did not reach their respective owner/dealer reserve over the following 11 months. The 2017 hangover.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1994-porsche-968-17/ This one may have met it's reserve on the first bid.
Bet reserve is closer to 30? Selling dealer and all that. I bet he paid less that 15 for it or took it in for trade at that! In house color correction, maintenance.
Doesn't even have a video with the sounds of the cat back exhaust. No underneath photos either, you would think a dealer would know better.

How did the owner find a shop to do a timing/balance shaft replacement, out the door, for $630!

Different color on the hood. Maybe fiberglass?
Need service records, otherwise I would assume that it was Ridden Hard and Put Away Wet.
Looks good otherwise....
