Hi there all-

I posted the question in the 944 forum, as well, but haven't gotten any replies, so I thought I'd try here; I don't mean to spam things but I don't know if I can move the original post.

Anyway, the question is: Eastern Catalytic makes a direct fit catalytic converter for the 968, but does not offer anything (apart from the universal options) for the 944 S2 model years; does someone here know if the 968 exhaust parts will fit the S2 engine? From what I understand most of the differences are on the internals of the engine, but I have also learned that the torque tubes are drastically different, so there may be some things going on that would not allow for the parts to fit on the standard hangers and attachment points.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an S2 cat in my shed, they look similar except the S2 has a longer stub on the resonator end. If this pic of the 968 converter is accurate:

I found a similar looking pic of a stock 968 converter also but the link was temporary, but I think that's accurate.

It kinda looks like you could adapt the 968 converter with the dingus off the old S2 converter or maybe fab with exhaust tubing.

That looks like the part that Eastern Catalytic sells as the direct fit replacement for the 968. I just finished removing all the exhaust bits from my S2 so I can mess around a bit to see better what the differences are. That's a larger picture than what I've seen elsewhere so that might be very helpful, thanks.
