Great catch! Yes. I used 1986 944 Turbo rear trailing arms. From the factory, the 1986 cars had aluminum trailing arms nearly identical to the 968. Porsche was doing some pre-planning and had the ABS sensor locations molded into the arms, but the locations had to be milled and tapped. The second difference is how the bearing is held in place. The 968 uses a 4 bolt plate and the earlier cars a “C” clip. In order for the early offset drive flanges to clear the trailing arm, only the “C” clip style works. The 4 bolt flanges interfer with the early offset drive flange. The ABS stub axles work with the early drive flange and the early offset aluminum trailing arms.

Thanks for doing that research and implementing the low offset “backdating”. What offset rims will you run out back?

Did you go low offset for the front?

i spoke with the owner of a race shop (we all like his race suspension parts that provide an “edge”. As I recall, his preference was for the late offset front setup, so I left the front late offset.

For wheels, I had a set of BBS wheels made (9” front, 10” rear) to match the late/early combination.

at the time I purchased the Infinity,I had a tuner experienced in the AEM products lined up to handle the dyno sessions.

check out the AEM website. Their box is based upon volumetric efficiency, so any upgrades to the engine won’t require a re-tune.
