Club Sport Parts...
I recently purchased & imported a 968 CS from Europe that was originally manufactured for the Belgium market. The car is a "radio delete" and "rear seat delete" model. 2 questions regarding these deletes: 1). In the roof, there is a hole for the conventional 968 antenna that has a makeshift (not factory) plug installed in lieu of the antenna. Does anyone know if there is a specific factory plug for this hole and if so, a part # or where to find one? 2). I had seen a photo of an English 968 Club Sport that had some sort of a factory shelf where the former rear seat would be - Does anyone know what this part is & a part # or where to find one? Thanks ! Rick

Great questions Rick but I have not a clue on the answers. I think a research trip to Europe is in order!

I don't see a diagram for a factory delete plug (but I can't find the diagram for the antenna either). The race cars used that hole for the radio communication antenna. Doesn't mean there isn't a factory plug though, especially for a radio delete car.
If your existing plug seals out water, I would leave it. If it doesn't, get one that does. The P/N for the rear shelf is 944-555-141-00. Black only (but could be a different color through Exclusive). It was optional for the CS. That P/N includes the bracket (944-555-627-00) that attaches to the seat belt hole. No idea where to find one, but you can ask the dealer to see if it is still available new. I would keep an eye on European eBays and eBay Kleinanziegen. |

There won't be a hole, the radio was an option on the CS. No hole in my CS. And of course no rear seat.

My car has option code "451" - which is "Reduced radio prep". Although no speakers are present in the doors, the wires are there for the speakers as well as wiring for the non present radio. My car has a small antenna pod behind the rear view mirror and a 1/2" +/- square hole where a regular 968 would have an antenna. Not sure what is correct as I did not buy the car from the original owner....

The rear shelf has been NLA for many years. It’s just a piece of wood covered in carpet and could easily be replicated. |
My car only has C23 030 197 220 573, I've seen others without the aerial. It has had a radio installed during it's life but not from the factory. It was tracked within it's first few months.

Interesting, mine is 451 too. However, while it has some later audio unit fitted, the (single only) door speakers seem Porsche original, although I've replaced the blown cones since then. Non-451 968's had multiple speakers. Also mine has a short stub roof antenna mounted at the rear. Again, this looks original. I've read option 451 as ' Prepared for radio for sport group' - whatever that means.
