Jeff, it wouldn’t by chance be one that Genau AutoWerks is advertising to be auctioned on BaT in a week or so?

That is the car. The seller reached out to me to tell me it was coming up for sale and to see if there were any 968ers looking for one.

Is there an asking price published? Will be good to see final selling price to validate current agreed value insurance policies on similar rarities.

Interesting photography that the seller provided.

Hope it sells for Big $$$, my #4 SY Cab might be available in the near future. But on this #1 f/s, I don't care for the 17" Cup wheels in Chrome on it at all, compared to the 16" Five Spokes. And at least 3 of the wheels have different center caps, how hard would it have been to correct that prior to the sale to make them all the same.

FWIW - Porsche does not endorse chrome plating of the wheels provided as OEM equipment. The scrapes on these wheels are really an embarrassment. The missing rear seat delete Protective Bracket/Rail is still available from Porsche and would go a long way in making this a more complete example.

the 5/22/17 service shows where a few of the stains are coming from...high side power steering, pan, lower balance cover. double charged on the 5th belt on the invoice.

edit... 911 102 025 07 should have been a 944 number for the balance adjuster roller on that invoice

The current owner bought the car Aug. 2017. I am always concerned when an owner owns a car for just over a year. Why are they selling? I assume that the reserve will be set at the $29K price paid...

The interior appears to be a bit rough for a pretty low mileage car (including the aforementioned package self retention bar) ... rip's in the carpeting, etc.
Although although it is a never-ending battle. I had some oil weeps fixed during the last timing belt changed, and I'll need a new steering rack sometime in the next year or two. And then there's the lower body cladding and rubber molding :-/

I just did all the work (and a lot more!) that you just listed. My main word of advice for the rocker panels and any body cladding you take off is to buy all new clips, grommets, fasteners, etc. and do not reuse the old ones even if they didn't break. It's a little extra money but you will thank me after you are done.

The wheels may still be OEM. The spoke profile looks correct. I've owned two sets of chrome cup 1's and the numbering around the valves is not there, but the proper part numbers and other markings are always on the back...I don't know if it's part of the chroming process that they sand off the numbers for better uniform adhesion, or if it's because the layer of chrome is so thick that they disappear...I've never stripped any back to bare metal so couldn't say whether they still existed underneath.

So they are possibly OEM Porsche wheels that someone took and chromed, but still not OEM for this car as it was produced with Cup 2 style wheels.

I emailed the seller and asked if he would have the “vibration” issue looked at or at the very least have someone knowledgeable about how 968s should sound and feel give it a test drive. His response didn’t agree to do either.
The driving video that the seller posted does help some, but it seems to my ears that there’s an odd sound when the clutch is depressed for a shift. It could be normal, but hard to tell with a video soundtrack.
If someone has an opportunity to look at this before the auction ends, please let us know your thoughts about the car please!

That driving video did not sound right to my ears either. When I hear the word "vibration" on 968's first thought is engine mounts, second is torque tube issues, third is transmission, but what do I know...
2 and 3 can be expensive.
