Default Thread Size for Drain Plug / Experience with LN Engineering Billet Plug

Can someone tell me the thread size for the drain plug on the engine (944-107-197-01)? I am trying to figure out whether the billet aluminum plug made by LN Engineering would work in our engines? On their website (see below) , they mention compatibility with Porsche 928: 1980-1986 and Porsche 944: 1983-1989, both of which use the same 944.. part number (or so it would appear looking at the PET for these cars). Any guidance would be appreciated

I should have mentioned that the LN Engineering part number is a replacement for Porsche part no 900-219-009-30, and has M18x1.5mm threads. This Porsche part number (and the LN Engineering replacement) have an internal hex socket for removing the plug, whereas our part has an external hex head. I am wondering whether the two part numbers (944-107-197-01 vs 900-219-009-30) are identical in dimension apart from that?

the stock 944/968 drain plug has a magnet on it and with external hex is harder to strip out than a typical "allen" plug, FWIW>

I'd be happy to send you one to see if it will work for this application as long as you provide some feedback. Send me a PM with your address and I'll send one out to you.

Charles Navarro was kind enough to send me one of the billet aluminum plugs to test. It is a thing of beauty, but unfortunately will not work in place of the Porsche part number 944-107-197-01 used in the 968, as the diameter of the threads is smaller than the POrsche part number. The thread dimensions on the LN Engineering part are 18x1.5 mm, and I am guessing (based on thread shown below) that the 944-107-197-01 part number is 20x1.5 mm. I did not have access to my calipers, so I could not check for sure.
