Question Hood Lamp Micro Switch

The 968 has a micro switch incorporated in the hood latch mechanism that controls the under hood lamp. My switch works intermittently, leaving the hood lamp turned on even when the hood is closed and drains the battery. Questions:
1) Anyone have experience with this problem ?
2) Can the micro switch be replaced as a piece part ?
3) Or is the micro switch sold as part of the hood latch assembly ?

1) Not yet
2) Yes
3) The switch on the hood latch is a separate item shown in the catalog illustration 909-00. Item 12 is the switch and I suggest you also purchase 13 and depending on condition, possibly 14. Also, I know that this switch reports to the alarm but I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm not sure if it activates the lamp or not. I need to check my car and confirm or perhaps someone else will jump in and report

Keep in mind that when you disconnect this switch, it also prevents the alarm from fully arming.

Isn't that another battery killer?
