Default What is this part?

Guys,

In the passenger footwell there is a black plastic tube attached to the sidewall. It sits at angle of about 45 degrees and is about 5 inches long. It is open at the uppermost end and closed at the bottm end. I haven't the foggiest what it is or what it is for If I was going to put it to use I would say a small maglite torch would fit in there perfectly but I don't think that was it's purpose.

Thanks.

A photo would help.

Is the pipe definitely plastic and not rubber?

Is it uniform in diameter along its whole length?

Good to see you posting on 968uk.co.uk as well.

Regards,

William

Hi William,

It is uniform in diameter throughout the length. Looks like a 'Smartie' tube only black plastic. (Don't know what Smarties are in USA, small candy coated chocolate button thingies!).
Would have posted this also on 968uk but Forum was down today. Will try again next day or so. As I'm just starting my foray into Porsche ownership it is good I feel to support all 968 Forums. Some are pleasant and some are bun fights! So far so good here though and 968uk too!

Regards,

These are the best at the moment with the hope of things getting better elsewhere as people do have a lot to give.

Unfortunately my car is in the bodyshop at the moment so cannot nip out and have a quick look. Even if I could its blowing a gale with hailstones thrown in just to make this a pleasant winters evening in the UK!

I remember those days well, when we had the cheek to think we were in the middle of deepest winter if there was any frost on the car!

You are lucky living in Dubai, I lived in Riyadh

But got over on 'business' as often as I could to play golf!

And that's exactly what I'm doing for the next 4 days. Gowfing up at the Montgomerie at this time of year is peachy! Driving up the palm tree lined roads to get there is another pleasure. Pity I only live 5KM away from the 1st tee though as I don't get to drive for very long. Oh well, better go via Jebel Ali then!
