Rusted out port on AC hard line, how to repair
So it looks like my cap was cracked, and that let moisture in. The inside or the port has corrosion, pulling the shrader valve and cleaning out the corrosion, still allows gas to leak past the valve when re-installing.
Has anyone had this happen? What was your experience, can the port be replaced, or does the whole line have to be replaced. They still have these new?

i'd drive to an AC/radiator shop, have them evacuate the system, cut off the old "bung" and braze a new one in its place, and re-charge.
usually the guys like a new project and are reasonable on price.
i had a 1/4" hole in my evaporator core repaired (brazed shut) and leak-checked for $20 and 30 minutes at the local rad shop in 2015, but i brought him the core out of the car.

In NEW ENGLAND or the Pacific Northwest, I'd definitely go for the AC delete bracket!
but fyi; that bracket should be reinforced before install.
