Default 968 battery tray replacement

My 968 had a leaking sunroof, figured that out now waiting on replacement gears. Upon testing the new sunroof seals and repair to drains , bypass of the fuel "T" etc.. Found the front floor board soaking wet.
Every time I tested before was parked uphill, this time just happened to be downhill. Water coming down firewall driver side. Duhh battery tray first thought maybe a small rusted out hole. Guess what PO had
silicon-ed a piece of round plastic to cover a hole about the size of a tennis ball. Of course this had come loose "instant waterfall". OK next step is pull electronics spend days drying and eraser time on all contacts under the dash. Sorrry kinda wandering off subject being how *&^^%$$ I am right now.
My question is there a insert to replace the battery tray ? Do I fiberglass it in ? Not to keen on welding in that spot , way to many electronic to be pulled. The car is driver class but I will not duct tape it together.
OK back to subject HELP what are some options

I have a beautiful rust free battery tray I cut from a parts car years ago if you wanted to go that route. I’m in upstate SC if you wanted to meet up.

In a driver class 968 I would cut the hole out a little past any rust, then treat the sheet metal with something appropriate, cut a replacement piece of sheet metal and rivet/caulk silicon new piece in place. If you want to be really fancy get a spray can from these folks with your body color and paint to match. Just be sure to treat all bare metal with appropriate primer so its not coming back faster than you put the battery in place. https://touchupdirect.com/

Default Water

over time, the drain tube from the sunroof can shrink and pull away from the lower drain port. If this happens, water can drain into the interior.

^^^^^^^ Repaired both drain tubes in my 968. Easy fix behind trim post.

Default Thanks for all responses

I cut out the battery tray cancer, cleaned the metal 2" around hole & treated area. Followed up with roll on rubberized bed liner. Doesn"t meet concourse but looks good and will never leak again.
