Just wondering how many of us plan to race a 968 in the upcoming year.

I have plans to come back in 2018 after a few years without wheel-to-wheel action. Should have #75 ready by the end of the month. Not sure what I'll do about the driver's deep rust though!
1994 #75, PCA, GT5, Sebring (new track for me) or COTA (30% chance), Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, VIR, MMC (new track for me), & NJMP. Wildcards could be Road Atlanta, Road America,& Mid-Ohio as new tracks for me as well.

Hi Will. GT5 is where I fit. The aero and a few other bits disqualify me from other classes. I normally find myself grossly underpowered and much heavier compared to the 911-based cars in the class, but I make up a little in other areas.
Its going to be a slow process getting back up to speed after not racing in at least three years, and not even being in the car at all in 2017. Its like being a rookie all over again. But I am very much looking forward to it. I have missed it every day...

Does autocross count?
I'll be doing mostly PCA autocross events here in the northeast with my new-to-me coupe. I've been using my slate grey m030, but wanted a coupe to modify and eventually in 3-4 years when the kids are in school full time and I have more time to commit, plan to add a cage and start doing some HPDE, and hopefully some TT/W2W racing after that. It's a pretty long term plan, but seems useless to do if I could only get out for 1-2 days a year to tracks.

Does it count if it is just partly 968?
I'll be racing in the Northwest with ICSCC. Depending on circumstances at Pacific Raceways, Ridge Motorsports Park, Portland, ORP, Spokane & Mission BC.

Burning Brakes
No plans for any door-to-door racing, but I'm planning to do many track days at Driveway Austin, which is just three miles from where I work, and 17 miles from home, so I can easily get out there 1-2 times a week. A lot of pretty high dollar hardware frequents that track, so there is plenty of "friendly competition". As far as plans for the car (a track-prepped but still streetable '92 968), the main items are:
- First and foremost, my Aim data acquisition system will hopefully be up and running by this weekend. This will allow me to compare what I'm doing to the pros and instructors at the track, which I'm sure will give me plenty to work on
- A set of 17 x 10.5" BBS E26 wheels (currently running 17 x 9" Twists)
- Working on raising the front and rear roll centers for faster and more stable cornering. Fairly complicated stuff, but fascinating subject matter. Will get an adjustable front sway bar as part of the package.
- Not car related, but I'm planning on installing a lift in my garage soon, and the hardware to do my own alignments and corner balance work
