Hi guys,

Does the 968 share the identical doors as the 924 and 944?
Do they have the same internal mechanical properties as manual window mechanism and same holes for the mirrors? Same screw holes for the door cards?

We can ask the opposite, what’s the difference? :-)

The Porsche PET catalog answers part of your question. The 89-91 944 doors, both coupe and cab, use the same part numbers as the 968.

Looking at the 944 doors for the older model years we see a similar part number but it is different so there must be some difference,

Swapped 944 to my 968 and Yes the 944 doors fit but you have to modify or drill to attach the 968 mirror. Can't remember exactly but simple mod.

It would be interesting to know if there’s a weight difference between the 924 / early 944 doors and the late 944/968 ones. More reinforcement or thicker metal maybe?
