Default Chestnut Restoration Project

I'm in the very beginning stages of my restoration project. The car is a 1994 model with the Chestnut full leather interior. I figure this may take close to 2 years to complete because of my OCD, but I will do my best to keep everyone up to date on the progress and will try to include as many pictures as I can.

A previous owner put Bilstien coilovers and solid bushing on the car. This is all being removed and replaced with stock components. I will be selling the solid bushings shortly as well as the front and rear coilovers. I notice some leaking from the fronts, so I'm not sure how desirable they will be. Maybe they can be rebuilt. I also have MO30 front and rear sway bars.

I will be needing a few stock parts along the way, so I'm hopeful that our Rennlist brain trust will be able to help me out along the way. Currently I am in need of the stock front springs. They must be the standard issue springs and not the M474 or MO30. If anyone has a stash of stock parts that are in excellent condition, let me know what you have.

Here are a couple pictures to get things started.

That was the car for sale in FL, correct? I liked the look of it lowered. Post pictures, it looked to be in good shape, but you never know until you see it in person.

PM me if you want eyes on the parts, I work about 10 minutes away from where the seller appears to be.

I'm bringing the car back to it's original state with the exception of the wheels which are 17". I'm going to keep those! It will also have some sort of aftermarket cat-back exhaust because the stock is too quiet for my taste.

Yes, that's the car. It's a little rougher than I was hoping for.... but it's still in really good condition. I had the car checked out before I flew out to get it. Yes, I drove it back to San Diego! Ran flawlessly! Looking forward to making this car like new again. Going to be a long road though.... I made the decision to pull the entire drive train out of the car, that way I can reseal the entire engine and trans, replace the clutch and clean everything. I also found a leather company that has the Chestnut Porsche leather. I'm getting some samples to check color match-up.

Here's a couple of pics of the car before I picked it up

The rear is the sexiest part of these cars

Definitely a one of a kind interior

Got started on cleaning up some of the front suspension items this weekend. Moving in the right direction. Will be ordering new struts, wheels bearings, brake rotors/pads, all bushings. Sending all the hardware out for plating as well.
