I thought so, I think the price is very fair, unfortunately the low price seems to have attracted more dreamers then buyers....she may get left at Carmax this weekend.

Lots of people out there want a spotless 968, with a stack of paperwork, (3) independently reviewed perfect PPI's, 1-owner car for $8,000.....ugh! It is a great car for half the price of a nearly identical car on ebay right now....sometimes I don't get the Porsche community

Surely carmax will offer you less than private buyer or independent dealer as they have a huge overhead. Your car would end up going to the carmax dealer auction (i attend those) where dealers like myself buy the car form carmax.

They may offer me less, but they will actually PAY me. I have lost track of how many people have made offers on this thing via. phone calls, emails, texts, face to face deals, or won the car on ebay.

I have had people agree to a number, then call me back with a completely different number, I have had people call me back hours later and tell me they "just realized they don't have that much money"
I have accepted several offers, and fairly countered many others....in the end, they are all bull$#itters and time wasters. No one has made an offer and showed up with cash.

Lots of interest from our friends in Germany....there is a market for the car, if I were a dealer I would hold on to it until spring and double the price....but alas, I am in need of funds, space, and one less vehicle to insure....keep your eyes open, you may see it on the dealers auction block real soon!

I hear ya, i have my 95 that i bought a couple of months ago to enjoy for a bit up for sale, had a good offer on it but guy said he'd call me in a week, during that week someone else calls, we agree to a price, he wants ppi, i take the car back and forth to shop (he paid for ppi) ppi comes back perfect, he then divulges that he is a buyer for luxmotorsport and all this time i'm talking to him as an enthusiast telling him how i love the car and how great it handles..anyways i get a call from the other buyer from a week before with a solid cash offer and tell him sorry car is pretty much sold, but guess what, the scumbags at luxmotorsport lead me on for a week, doing paperwork , and they never wire the money, even yesterday lance calls me says money will be wired today for sure and of course nothing..lol..

Either way i'm kind of glad because i love this car and this is pushing me to keep it , i may put it on BAT to feel like i did my work and tried to sell it, and if it doesn't bring what i want i can then keep it with a guilt free conscience lol

It would be interesting to know what Carmax would offer for a unique car like a 968 where there is a 99% chance they will just send it to an auction since it's way too old for their lot.

Interesting. I almost bought a unique low mileage black metallic cab for 17K that just sold at auction for 23K. It is now back on the market but they have not priced it. Maybe I should have snapped it up.

I suspect that in a couple of months, my car will likely resurface with a new paint job and double the price tag. It seems most Porsche shoppers have a false sense of security when buying from a dealer, and as such feel better about putting down twice the price on the same car.
