Default Engine Hood Alarm Switch/Bimetallic-Element Switch

1. I can't seem to find any information on the hood alarm switch other than the reference on the wiring diagram. I have a connector near the front lid actuator:

That has nothing connected to it:

2. I also found a reference in the shop manual to a bimetallic-element switch (see #43 below) which is supposed to be attached to the bottom of the lid actuator that is not present :

Anyone know anything about these two switches a what the connector above is for?

That micro switch turns on the small light under the hood. Physically under the hood crest.

It may also trigger the alarm if all locked up and the hood nefariously opened??

Number 8 on PET electric section I think.

Thanks John! I was expecting to find some sort of plunger type switch (like #19 in the image you posted) to actuate the light but I see no location that would house it. Because of that, I thought the light was just a manually switched light, as it is not mercury switched either.

Still confused about the bimetallic-element switch which is #43 on the manual page 55-2. The name makes it clear it is a temperature change detection switch. But for what?

I would assume bi-metal is implying micro-switch.
