Default Solid State DME Relay with fuel pump prime

Anyone here tried or used either the solid state relay or the solid state relay with fuel pump prime.

Looks interesting and logical. Any thoughts on this?

I have been using one and am very pleased with this.

I have only heard good things from others as well.

i dont have the relay but do have an ECU that primes the pump at key on

sure makes starting easier/faster, and i like it because it's an audible reminder if the fuel pump works (aka DME relay works), lol

I have one on my 944. My 944 has always been a fast starter anyway but like V2 says I like hearing the pump working and being SS is just peace of mind motoring.

I've been perfectly happy with the newer electromechanical part made by a good company (not Uro) but solid state does sound like a good option. It'll be some years before we know if they stand the test of time but they probably will.

Re: the pump prime I read that you can get priming from other events besides turning the key so there could be some risk there. Possibly if you are in a crash and there is a fire there could be enough electrical issues to cause priming, the whole idea of the stock system is to prevent the pump from running when it's not supposed to avoid feeding a leak or fire.

I also think it's fine to get some rotation of the oil pump before the engine fires.
