Did you pull the gauge out and check the backlight bulb? The screen will not illuminate if the bulb is bad

I have not pulled it. I didn't know there was a bulb. Thought they were led screens.

Yep, tiny bulb back there. They are LCD screens, not LED.

Fyi, the screen is attached to the trim with plastic clips, make sure you unhook both to remove the screen, if you only do one, the other tab will break. Don't ask how I know😒

LCD is what I meant, sorry. Is the bulb like a dash bulb? And if the bulb goes out, how would it stop the screen from working? If I press on the screen lightly, you can get some sort of image to appear, but it might be accurate. And goes away as soon as you let off.
Thanks for the reply.
I'm just trying to figure this out a bit before I go an take apart my car. You know, have a game plan.

The bulb is like a dash bulb. Mine had the same issue, and when I took it off for something else, I was able to just wiggle things when it went back together and it all worked. No replacement bulb needed.

How involved is it to change the bulb? Does it require dissassembly of the dash or does the temperature display pop out somehow?

It's not hard....just go to Clark's Garage and there is a procedure there. You work from right to left, start on the outboard side of the dash to remove the trim and take a couple more screws out and you might have to take the glove compartment out, which is easy. When you put everything back together make sure you don't knock the rubber tube off the back of the air inlet vent for the HVAC system. Or if you do, just put it back on. Also, be very careful with the circle trim piece on the face side of it, it's easy to break when rotating it.
