Jerry,
Good work on the AC stuff so far, you are very thorough!
Eventually it will work..lol

Regarding the mount, the 968 procedure should be similar to what I outlined in this thread:

Nice work Jerry. Very meticulous stuff and great pictures. I hope that system freezes you down in Texas for years to come!

Put some butyl tape around the perimeter of fan box, bought it at Home Depot, 14 dollars vs the 168 dollar seal from Porsche if you can even still get it. Got it back together and the fan actually still works!!! It's a Festivus miracle!!
By the way that Klima clean stuff works pretty good, got rid of about 75% of the musty odor when AC not on. I guess cleaning those fans helped too.

Put a new receiver drier on. I'm kinda in No mans land now as far as knowing how much oil I have in the system. How much should I add after replacing expansion valve and receiver drier?

It shouldn't be more then two or three ounces, at least that is what I recall from an old Ford factory service manual. How many ounces of oil total for the system?

I think it says 4 or 4.5 total.

the compressor in your car should have 8 oz of oil in it.
it's a Nippondenso 10P15 unit also used in lots of 90s Fords.

i wouldnt bother adding any oil to the system if none (in liquid form) came out - probably not enough to matter would get carried away by evaporating freon.

only way to really know would be to drain the compressor and re-fill.

Really?? I could be wrong but when I started this months ago I could swear the manual said somewhere between 4-5 oz. I checked, because at the time I wanted to make sure I had the right amount. The new compressor came with 4 oz because I poured it out and measured. I will certainly add more if you are correct.
Before I started this latest "fix" I had 5 oz in the system not including any residual in the evaporator.
Wouldn't that be awesome if my new compressor wasn't coming on because I burned it up from oil starvation.

Cold ac again!!! Don't know if it was relay or pressure switch but one of them fixed it. Also the new relay is really quiet. I don't hear it clicking on and off constantly.
