What happened to the engine you had? there was a G50 for sale on Pelican a while back but it was not stock gearing. They are next to impossible to find and run around $10k when you do. Did you try all the dismantling houses?

Sounds like an opportunity to build a 3.6.
There are other options regarding the transaxle.

If you still have the original engine/ trans might be cheaper to rebuild.
LA dismantlers and Oklahoma salvage always have cores.

If I recall the story, Helio's car came with a normally aspirated 3.6 or something other than the "correct" engine.
Hopefully he chimes in on the story.

He posted heavily over on Pelican. IIRC he had sourced a 3.3 engine and was about to have it installed but I haven't heard anything else since. That is why I am curious that he is looking again.

I don't go there much any more. Doesn't seem to be a friendly place, all due to one or two problem children.

You have seen nothing until you venture into the Politics and Controversy Section.

Back on topic - an original 964 turbo engine will be close to impossible to come by.

Oh yeah, the Politics & Controversy forum, where if your not a reactionary they want you dead.

As for engine availability, yes, Frank, agreed.
If it were my car I would want as much displacement as I could afford. It would be an relatively easy task to build something off of a 3.6 block. EFI, low boost and it would still be a lot of fun to drive.
