Default Steering wheel part numbers?

Looking to buy a donor steering wheel to send off for reupholstering. I assumed that all 964 airbag wheels were the same, but I've seen 2 different part numbers associated with it.

PET lists the wheel as 964 347 804 52
However, I've seen photos of an actual wheel with the PN 964 347 804 50

Is there a difference or will all the airbag wheels universally fit other cars?

I will see if I can pull my wheel from storage and check the number. AFAIK there are several wheels that look the same. The 928 and 968 used the same wheel but the back side is different so it works with the clock switch for those cars.

I don't believe the wheel from my 964 is different than my turbo. Might be easier to find a good used wheel. The important part are the horn buttons. A heavily used wheel can have soft buttons form use. Make sure they have good spring to them before buying.

Have you tried replacing the horn contact springs? Its been a while but I don't remember it taking more than a few minutes.

I think PET has them listed incorrectly? The part number I gave you was for the 964 airbag steering wheel copper spring that goes under each (left and right) horn button.

Cool I will give it a shot. I am always ordering parts from them. I'll put it on my list.

Thanks.
