Default Re-cover/Re-pad steering wheel?

Anyone re-cover and re-pad the OEM steering wheel? One thing that bothers me about it is it's too thin. Feels like I'm driving a bus. Would love to go to a Momo Prototipo but I want to retain the airbag and keep the OEM look.

Dallas Custom Steering Wheels has this pic on their website:

Looks pretty good to me. Thoughts?

I've had them do a few wheels of mine and other parts. Good work. You can spec 2 different pad sizes.

Great. Thanks. What are the 2 sizes? I guess thick and and really thick??

I have an email into them but they're closed for the holiday.

That's on my to-do list.
Very nice work by Dallas.
Anyone have a ballpark price?

$379 to recover
$50 for thicker padding
$30 for centering stripe
$25 shipping (at least to me in Houston)

No charge for colored stitching

I haven't done my 964T - but do have one done in my Audi S4 airbag wheel - nice perforated leather over a slightly enlarged pad. Really cool but subtle stitching, too. Not sure who did it - can find out easily (he/they are out of CA) but I love it.

Bought a wheel off Pelican and had it sent to Car Bone Livery in Poland to reupholster. 6 week turnaround. Not too bad. Should have it in my hands by the end of the week. Pics look good. I'll comment more on the quality/feel after I get it installed over the weekend.

Ed, what made you go to Poland over Dallas?

Price!
I believe I was quoted around $500 from Dallas. $285 with Car Bone for the same work and their price included shipping both ways. Assuming the quality is there, it was a no brainer.

Ed, did you decide not to go with colored stitching? or was that going to be a up-charge with Car Bone? .... or both?
