Electrochemical polishing is an anodic metal processing to create a smooth and shiny surface. An article having micro- and macroroughnesses, an anode of the cell. The cathode metal is chemically insoluble in the electrolyte solution. As the electrolytic solutions using solutions of phosphoric, chromic, sulfuric, acetic, and hydrofluoric acids. In the process of electropolishing occurs anodic dissolution of the metal at the macro and microtips, whereby the surface becomes smooth and shiny. At the cathode, the hydrogen is released. electro-mechanism not completely understood. electropolishing effect is usually associated with the action of viscous film formed in the anode layer, the metal makes it difficult to dissolve in the recesses compared with the dissolution on the projections, as well as alternate passivation and activation of metal.

Took the '92 recently to Ehrlich Motorwerks for its annual service. They have a young up & coming air-cooled technician, Daniel Davis, who also splits his time working for Tom Charlesworth in Tulsa. Daniel also happens to be an accomplished automotive photographer. I'll post a few of his pics, a couple of which will hopefully be made into posters.

After a week of detailing and cleaning for Porsche Parade I pulled it out of the garage only to find I need to do more cleaning. I don't think they came this clean from the factory. Everything is in perfect working order and in like new condition. Scary part is the underside is probably cleaner than the top side. Can't wait till this is over and i can drive it again.
