No not an X88, just a very good condition 'basic' Turbo 3.6.

They seem to use the turbo S tails a lot by you. Any idea if that is a factory tail or not.

Thanks for sharing

I will ask. New Zealand has a large number of 964 and 964 Turbos ex Asia, Mostly from Singapore, but also Brunei, Hong Kong and Japan. Ex Singapore cars flooded in in the late '90s due to Singapore tax rebates and were often very well specced when imported e.g. My C4 has RUF suspension. The two cars I have pictured with Turbo S tails are ex Singapore. The Speed Yellow one has 33,000 miles on the odometer and is close to Concours condition. Speculation is it sold for USD 125,000 or GBP 75,000. This example will stay in New Zealand but I expect one by one others will head offshore. At one stage there were 13 here.

Yes, although the costs to export it to another market mount up quickly. Still, I think it was a relative bargain, especially considering it's condition.

Hi Garry, there is a green 3.3 turning up to PCNZ events, it was certainly at the last Sprints and may be there this Sunday as well. I can't recall any other green ones.

Are you still looking for a Turbo?

Yes , This car I'm thinking of was in Auckland a few years ago , now back in Christchurch , Has Ruf wheels and suspension , import from Singapore ,
unusual light green colour.
I would prefer a 3.6 , but timing is everything .

I recall that now. My C4 has RUF suspension. Basically Bilstein HD with RUF valving , painted green. Good, but no longer state of the art.

The best sources of information are the mechanics. Maybe try Autothority? You really need to buy on condition and have a very thorough PPI. If you are ever in Auckland, PM me before hand and you can see what a Turbo 3.6 drives like.

Thanks for the offer , I don't get up there so much , but that's a great idea ,
my mate here has a 1987 930 NZ new car , put I guess the 964 drives better.

Klint said his 3.6 had like GT3 Struts with adjustable platforms , sounds like that Green car has the same .

Clint's car was apparently a very stiff ride, which is not really in keeping with the way Porsche designed them. They are GT Tourers with long legged gears and gobs of torque. At the legal speed limit you can sit in 3rd or 4th depending on your mood and overtake at will. It's like a wave of torque forcefully pushing you on. I find it more satisfying than the 996TT driving mode.
