Default Recaro Pole Position or GT3 Seats?

As the title suggests, which one do you prefer on a 964 turbo? Recaro Pole Position or GT3 Seats? I'm 6'5 so that has to play a factor. Opinions on comfort, quality and looks...

I know you are tall, but are you normal size? Some of the seats are very narrow and hard to live with. I have a set of Pole Position "type" seats that have a generous bottom area for normal sized guys. They are covered in new red leather that could be dyed. There are no stickers on them so if you are planning on the track these will not work. Jim jdorociak@gmail.com

I'm 6'5 about 220lbs. Shoulders are wide and have a 36inch waist. I'm concerned about the shoulders being forced in too much because I have wide shoulders. This is a fun, go for a drive car so I won't be going long distance in it

My seats are what is left over from my initial 964 RSR project - which by the way is how I got started with Speedline wheels. Initially I had a 95 993 engine and a G50-21 european 6 speed to go in, but that has now all been sold off except for the seats. I am asking $1100 for the pair. I have the side brackets but no sliders. Pole Positions are $600 plus per seat and much more in leather. jdorociak@gmail.com

Dude, you are a beanpole.
I'm 6-0, 210 with a 46 inch chest and I can fit into normal PPs'. I think your biggest challenge will be fitting in the car with a helmet on.

Are you going to use harnesses? Pole positions shoulder holes are very low and the harnesses won't fit properly if you are tall. 996gt3 seat shoulder holes are higher and easier to get in and out of. I've had both and would go with the gt3 seats if you care about comfort. Pole positions look much better but they are not very good seats for a daily driver

I've sat in gt3 seats many times and think they are great except for the shoulder area being squeezed in a little too much for a permanent change. Do the PP and Gt3 seats fit similar? Seems like the PP shoulder area would not be as tight in the shoulders for me as the Gt3. I don't track the car so I won't be wearing a helmet.

I used the GT3 seats in my 997S for a while when it was both my daily driver and track car. They are great on the track, and comfortable (for me at 5' 10" 195lbs) while driving on the street. But honestly they make getting in and out of the car a pain in the *** due to the high bolsters. The Recaros look like they will be pretty much the same. Honestly, if you are not tracking the car, but driving it relatively frequently on the street, I suspect you will not enjoy them all that much. Just my $.02. YMMV

Don't want to hijack the thread, but what is the best seat for a tall (6'4"), relatively slim, driver that wants to do occasional track days with a helmet?

+1 If you are 6'3 and plan to use a harness, forget about the PPs.

How do you define occasional? Do you intend to use a harness and HANS?
