Car won't start except by holding the key
A strange title i guess nut bear with me.
I have had my car stood since November and had developed a couple of electrical issues relating to my aftermarket immobilizer and the central locking, the immobilizer has now been fully removed and the locking control box unde rthe seat replaced.
Now when i try to start the car it runs for a couple of seconds and dies. If i hold the ignition key all the way round so it is using the starter the car runs until i let go. When i parked the car up in November it would start first time so i don't know where to start. I figured the immobilzer was the cause of the non starting.
I have tried to search for similar issues but haven't found an answer. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the ignition switch.
You can replace it by removing the drivers seat and laying in the footwell on your back. There's one box to move out of the way but then you have good access to it.
Once you pull the plug off the back there are two phillips screws to remove (I replaced those with socket screws; see photo).

Well it wasn't the ignition switch. Of the two i had to try one acted the same the original and the car died after a second or so. The second kept the steering lock on at all time and as soon as the battery was reconnected showed the dash at ignition on, all lit up, without the key being in.
What next? I'm not sure...

I once had a similar issue ,believe or not it was a flakey over boost switch (on the back of the intercooler). Try grounding the brown wire on it .
Worth a try
