Not sure why all the mystery about the S Leichtbau and "Porsche denying its existannce" ??

There are loads of references to it, I remember it well when introduced.

According to Mike Connel's book there were 10 registered in the UK, engine number was M30/69 SL Chassis nos WPOZZZ96ZPS479001.

I remember them in particular because we looked at their 380PS engines whilst modifying my 965 of the day.

Here is the best article on it from the late great Paul Frere

Thanks for your input ! i fear you got me wrong ..

Some books state that there are 80 - the other states 81 and the other states 86 units !

So i asked Porsche to give me a true statement - they said - their database would not show the cars from 479082 to 479086 -

thats the reason i asked here if someone knows more about these 5 UK cars ?

Norbert,

Well it sounds like a good idea to catalogue the Turbo S Leichtbau cars then. I would appreciate any information you can share with me - outside of Porsche provided data as I can get that.

68 X88 is correct - 17 Package cars and 51 X88 optioned Turbos. I should have the website updated soon with the X88 VIN's, photos and data. It is the final part of the flachbau.com site update.

Thx Mark

Here is a link to the ex-Nick Faldo car (I believe it was a prize but I could be wrong) including engine and chassis number. I have seen this car and so have many others - so surely they can't deny its existence. There was also an article in Performance Car from 1992 that features a yellow RHD 3.3 s that was bought direct from the Porsche factory by an English collector (£130k at the time!). It was well documented as the journalist came along with the new owner to the factory to collect it and take it back to the UK - there's even a shot of it queuing for the ferry! Another they surely can't deny...

Here are some colour pictures of BB PW 137, absolutely stunning in Amethyst

Have pics of yellow, black, blue, silver and red LHD, if anyone wants to exchange pics, please e-mail me at christian@928gts.no, I try to save all the pics/info I find

I also have some pics of a black RHD, no chassis no though

Does anybody have info regarding quantities for each market, and where these cars are? Is Mike Connel's book still available?

I love flachbau.com (Kudos, Mark!). These Leichtbau cars are also worthy of such an effort, IMHO.

I have these informations ... but to find out where the cars are, it would take another crazy guy ...
