I have got the eMail address of the broker who sold the Speed Yellow one (first four pics in a garage with a 300SL gullwing in the background) and sent him a couple of eMails but he never reacted... As far as the other one concerned (50 SL 76 reg plate), one could suspect I should rather easily find out the VIN (it is in France where I live) but I unfortunately never got the confirmation of the VIN... Still investigating... Will obviously let the community (and Mark) know.

... and I also take this opportunity to add two pics of my car last time I moved it.

I am unfortunately still struggling with the registration procedure. Only two cars were sold new in France in 1992 and I do not have any form of support from the French importer for this - poor - reason. As a matter of fact there is no “official" compliance certificate for this model the French Porsche importer can provide me with and I basically have to go through the compliance procedure alone e.g. prove to French Vehicle Authorities that sound, light, side mirrors vision, brakes etc... of my Turbo S Lightweight are compliant with European and French Regulations. This, I can do having the car checked at special workshops working for French Vehicle Standards and Regulations Authorities. With the workshop certificate (obviously not for free, will cost around 3k Euros) I will go to the Vehicle Registration Service and should (finally !) get French papers for the car and according registration plates… A kind of road to Hell but there is no way for me to bypass this boring system if I want the car to be registered.

This is where I am today… The procedure, I started Q3 2012 and stopped during winter. I will carry on when sunny days will be back (say April / May). My goal is having the car registered for next Summer. As soon as the car will be registered, I will bring it to Porsche Classic in Stuttgart / Germany to have it fully checked.

Will keep you posted.

Anthony,

Thank you for the picture (never seen) and what seems to be a very interesting colour ! Any chance to know where does the picture come from ?! Quite difficult to see on the picture but it seems there is no steering-wheel on the left side... which would suggest it is a RHD car ?!

I agree there appears to be a steering wheel on the right. Unfortunately, as I stated I lifted this from another thread here is the post. I sent the poster a PM we will see if he is willing to divulge any additional info. He claims it is cobalt blue but it seems a bit dark for Cobalt although you can look at my car and never have it look the same twice.

I still haven't had a chance to check one of my back up hard drives I believe I should have additional photos of turbo S's on that drive. I will post if I find anything. Once I go through everything I will send Mark the pictures.

I also find the colour does look a bit dark for Cobalt Blue... and too much purple in it... but agree again : light plays a big role here and we should be careful.

Would be great that poster gets back to you with positive elements... Bringing a new piece to the puzzle (Turbo S Register) always appreciated... and if you find more photos and maybe VINs on you old backup HD even better !

Thank you very much for trying and keeping us posted
