Hey Gulf....................if your removing the engine then it would be necessary to remove the rear bumper otherwise you will have to jack the rear of the car up too high. Do a search on "965 engine removal" i did a write up on it and it may help you some.

Thanks for that Jerry, superb write up!! can't see that a guide could be more complete than that should help a lot!

I understand about having to lift the car so high, I was just trying to dodge that step as I have a 2 post lift so never have to struggle lifting the car as high as I need so am just trying to be lazy by not taking the bumper off if I don't have too?

Well im not really SURE if you have too?? I think with a 2 post lift youd probably be ok.
