I didn't see any tags/vin stickers in the engine bay so could have had some hidden body/paint work....

Yea the stickers being missing is definately a little strange. I would say the price seems ok if the car checks out clean. I sold my '91 Turbo a couple weeks ago to a dealer for the same price. The market seems to be ok for the nice ones.
