One of 6 964 turbo 3.3l cabs for sale.
I stumbled upon this for sale in London Sotheby's 2018. One of 6 factory built 1993 3.3l turbo cabs and the second to last of the 6. RHD but a clean rarity. This car is featured in Gabriel and Franz book Porsche turbo air-cooled years.
No suggested sale price but being such an oddity I am assuming it should fetch some serious money.

and the badge on the tail is. 3.3. I believe in Europe the last year for the 964 & 964 turbo was 93 which was a 94 year model in the US hence there are no 93's in the US.

Not a turbo though. I think they had to add so much weight to the 930 turbo cabs they didn’t bother with 964s. If you really booted them you could get out and find the doors wouldn’t shut. Overnight it sorted itself out and door shut fine. (Thank G)

The car I posted a link to is one of 6 special wishes 3.3l 964 turbo cabs using the engine from the 3.3l 964 turbos delivered in 1993. I argued with Norbert over these existing for years but he has proven they do exist. Porsche made a number of 930 turbo cabs and targas a couple of friends owned cabs and I am not aware of them having issues with doors shutting properly.

They are 100% real, however I heard that they made 8 not 6 (no difference really) and I was under the impression that these all had the engine from the Turbo 3.6.
Also was the X33 option ever ordered on any US spec Turbo 3.3's?

None of these would be US spec and there were no US spec X33 cars AFAIK. Only the 20 1992 S2 reworked by Andial had the power upgrade.

It is so hard to say what is what with these. They seem to have done their research on these but they are missing significant cars in their book like Bob Linton's last 930 and have some errors regarding early 930 numbers . They have some decent info and photos in their book.

1992 American Roadster with it's 3.6 turbo Speedlines, and it's 1992 Turbo S2 Engine, The Extra 5" thick intercooler didn't fit well. Weighed like 35lbs. A/c was fitted after this engine photo. Sorry for the purist but a Modified air-cooled will always be my path. This car was driven to over 100,000 miles in 2015. Not sure where she's at now.

Did the S2 motor come from the silver S2 that was totalled? I am not sure why the IC didn't fit well I have a few friends with S2's and they have no issue AFAIK.
looks like a fun toy

The S2 came from Oklahoma Foreign. Possibly a black one. The intercooler was rubbing on the Bottom. Fitment issues. I didn't see the need for the oversized intercooler with street driving. My buyers back then didn't know anything about these cars.
